I was at my wits end with my 4yr old Dachshund who was periodically attacking my gentle 10 yr old Lhasa Apso but 1 session with Yvonne and I understood better what I needed to do in order to support both dogs and reduce the likelihood of an attack. After our 2nd meeting I was even better armed with a plan of action which has been really helpful and hasn’t taken long to see huge improvements. I am so much more hopeful for the future of their relationship and so glad I stumbled across you Yvonne! Thanks so much for your guidance and support. I really appreciate it and so do both dogs lol x
What a great find. The dogs loved it and a full hour for a fiver, bargain. And we were greeted by the gorgeous Daisy. A great place if your dogs just want to play with no distractions.
Yvonne is great! I've done man-trailing, 1:1 classes and muttley crew, all of which have been well worth it.
Yvonne is incredible! From the first day of meeting our pup she has changed his whole world! A terrified puppy is now already becoming a much more confident adolescent! Could not recommend more highly- a total MUST for every dog owner- new or not! Yvonne’s knowledge is incredible and she is a total dog whisperer as far as we are concerned. Thank you Yvonne for giving our pup such confidence!
I brought my springer pup to Daisy Dog Academy for a recall class and more recently the Mantrailing Induction course. We both thoroughly enjoyed the classes and I gained a lot of insight and understanding into my dog’s world, particularly on the Mantrailing course. I highly recommend the Academy, Yvonne’s knowledge and genuine love for her work and for the dogs is very apparent. Thank you Yvonne.

Richie has been AMAZING with my dogs. I adopted a dog from the dogs trust who had trouble with recall and I no longer have to worry about it. And it doesn’t stop there, the work he does to rescue and rehome dogs in his spare time is something that needs to be recognised. Will ALWAYS HIGHLY recommend. Xx
I am so grateful to Richard at Emerald tails who has been working with my 2 dogs. I’ve been with other trainers but working with Richard has yielded the quickest results, especially in lead walking my very social/bouncy Labrador puppy. As the photo shows they know when he is due to call and can’t wait for his arrival. Richard has an amazing way with dogs and can’t recommend him highly enough. Very professional and down to earth.
He Really cares about animals and gives a great insight to training, amazing how quick the wee doggy took to it. Very professional yet extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this

Finding experienced dog trainers in Richhill means connecting with professionals who understand the unique needs of rural County Armagh dog ownership. From training working farm dogs near the Callan River to teaching family pets obedience for village life, our certified trainers deliver personalised behaviour modification, puppy socialisation, and obedience programmes tailored to this close-knit community.
Serving Richhill village and surrounding townlands including Annaghmore, Legacorry, Clare, and areas toward Portadown and Tandragee, we've successfully trained over 450 dogs across the district. Our expertise addresses both rural and residential challenges, from recall training in open farmland to managing dogs in the village centre near Main Street and Richhill Public Library.
Richhill presents distinctive training requirements shaped by its rural agricultural character and tight-knit village atmosphere. Many local dogs serve dual purposes as both family companions and working animals on surrounding farms, requiring specialised training that balances livestock awareness with household manners. The area's open countryside, farmland, and quiet roads demand excellent recall and boundary training to ensure safety.
Our trainers understand local challenges including training dogs to remain calm around farm animals, managing high prey drive near wildlife, and developing reliable recall in expansive fields. We recognise that Richhill dogs need confidence on quiet country lanes, proper behaviour at community gatherings like those at Richhill Community Hall, and the ability to travel calmly to nearby towns like Portadown or Armagh city for veterinary visits.
We provide comprehensive dog training services throughout Richhill village and the wider rural area, covering the BT61 postcode district. Our trainers work with families throughout the village centre near the Diamond, in residential areas along Tandragee Road and Portadown Road, and across surrounding farmland and townlands extending toward Markethill and Hamilton's Bawn.
Our puppy programmes build essential foundations during the critical 8-16 week period, exposing young dogs to Richhill's rural environment including farm machinery sounds, livestock presence, and country roads. Training covers house training, crate training, bite inhibition, and basic commands, with controlled socialisation ensuring puppies develop into confident, well-adjusted dogs suited to village and countryside life.
Essential for Richhill's open countryside, our recall training develops reliable off-lead control despite distractions from wildlife, livestock, and open fields. We build bombproof responses to commands, emergency stops, and distance control, ensuring your dog can safely enjoy rural freedom while responding immediately when called, crucial for safety near roads and farmland.
Dog training in Richhill typically ranges from £35-60 per hour for private sessions, with 6-week programmes averaging £200-350. Group classes, when available locally, cost £10-18 per session. Mobile trainers serving rural Armagh often include travel within their rates, making home visits convenient for farm and countryside properties.
Yes, livestock training is essential in Richhill's agricultural community. We teach dogs impulse control around sheep, cattle, and poultry, using positive reinforcement to build reliable responses. Training typically requires 6-10 sessions depending on the dog's prey drive, with progressive exposure ensuring safe coexistence with farm animals while maintaining the dog's natural instincts appropriately.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old. Early exposure to Richhill's rural environment during the 8-16 week socialisation window proves crucial for developing confident dogs comfortable with farm life, country sounds, and village activities. Adult dogs and rescues benefit equally from training regardless of age.
Professional dog training in Richhill creates well-mannered companions suited to both village life and rural countryside. Our proven methods combine evidence-based techniques with understanding of local agricultural needs, developing confident dogs capable of thriving in County Armagh's unique environment. Whether you're in the village centre or surrounding farmland, expert training ensures your dog becomes a reliable, valued member of your family and the wider Richhill community.
