Jo is brilliant. Ted is always excited when she comes to pick him up. She always takes the dogs on lovely walks and we get video updates which is nice to see what he gets up to. I would highly recommend Jo for doggy daycare/walks.
Jo has been looking after our lively cocker spaniel Meg since she was a small puppy. Meg loves her days with Jo and gets so excited to see her. Jo is so kind and caring and also tries to help and accommodate us as much as she can. She also makes the days for the dogs really interesting, with plenty of themed games to stimulate them, as well as lovely walks. Meg is always tired out and happy when she returns! We are so lucky we found Poocheria and would recommend Jo to anyone.
We started using poochrea a couple of months ago for our cocker spaniel puppy Sienna. She started at 4 months old which was a little scary, as she was so young but sienna has settled in so so well! Jo always puts us at ease by sending photos and updates each time she’s with her. You can see Jo really does care for Sienna like she’s her own. It’s such a relief to have found someone as amazing as Jo to care for our little girl. Sienna is always super excited when Jo picks her up and she then sleeps for the rest of the afternoon until we get home from work. Jo always replies to messages promptly and is willing to fit her in at short notice and swap days around which is great with work/holiday. Jo really is an amazing person and we wouldn’t want anyone else’s caring for Sienna. Have and will recommend to any pet parent in Wymondham. Thank you Jo Jess Ben
Jo was fantastic with double daily visits to feed our cats and to administer insulin to one of them. Received pictures and updates when required. Absolutely brilliant, thank you.
Jo has been visiting our two cats for over 2 years now when we’re away from home. Always so easy to organise and keeps me updated on how our cats are doing each time. Would highly recommend 😊

Highly recommend! My dog can be a bit nervous/fidgety when getting her nails trimmed but the staff here are always so patient and kind! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable!
I’ve just taken my spaniel for his first groom and teeth clean with Maxine and I have to say he looks fabulous. She advised what she thought would be the best length to take off which I really appreciated. He looks wonderful… it’s taken years off him😆 He’ll be a regular from now on.
My cocker spaniel has regular grooms & even a pamper sometimes as an extra. People often comment on how well she is cut and ask where. Maxine has help my Lab by gently getting her to introduced to grooming as had a fear being bathed. She will also help if you have any questions or she notices that a cut hasn’t healed as it should. They go above and beyond and I would highly recommend them. Also loved the Christmas pampers.
Very patient with our anxious boi, clean, professional, with an all around great result. Thank you for fitting us in at a short notice and making our doggo feel comfortable and welcome.
Our cavalier king Charles spaniel Norman had his first groom in 6 years at vanity fur this week. We can't recommend them highly enough, Norman is old and has a lot of sebaceous cysts as well as arthritis but he was so well looked after by the girls and the second he walked in was made welcome and and comfortable. They groomed him exactly how we wanted and he looked amazing when we picked him up. He was calm and happy and we've booked him in for his next groom. Thank you so much vanity fur

Carolyn is an amazing trainer! Not only do you get the sessions but you get video follow ups via email with additional tips and advice. We have done puppy and intermediate and are booked onto gundog training for our sprocker spaniel. What I like most about Carolyn is how "real" her training is. She has advice for nuonces with your individual dog and talks from experience about her own dogs. She doesn't pretend there's a "one fit" for all dogs. Her advice that training is for engagement primarily and the dogs getting things right is secondary has changed my relationship with my dog. I have learnt so many long term principles around training from Carolyn that will far outlast the course. I cannot recommend this training enough!
Carolyn was really helpful with the puppy training classes and we learnt a lot about how we communicate with our dog. We are really glad we did the course and would recommend her services!
Carolyn is an excellent dog trainer and has give me, an inexperienced dog owner, lots of confidence, skills and tips to train my puppy well. Cannot reccomend highly enough.
Myself and Phoebe (nutty GWP) have recently finished the intermediate classes with Carolyn, we had great fun and learned a lot too, we will definitely be returning for the advanced classes when they start in a few weeks missing classes already !!!!

The group we are in are awesome as are the trainers. The apparatus is very good also. Any types of dogs and abilities are welcome.
Melanie was recommended to me when I was looking for Agility Training for my (nearly) 2 year old Cocker Spaniel, Hugo. Hugo suffers with anxiety and, as a pup, we could not complete training as he would refuse treats outside of the home. On our first visit to Melanie she spent time with him working on building his confidence. We left with lots of tips and things to work on, and a very happy dog. We have since had 3 further sessions and Hugo’s confidence has grown both during sessions and in his day to day life. He has already exceeded my expectations and progressing well at each session. I suspect the dog is easier to train than the handler (me) although Melanie is so patient and will always work around anything we struggle with. I really cannot praise her enough and would recommend her to anyone, whether it be for Agility Training or behavioural issues
Melanie has a wealth of knowledge and experience that she shares with her students in very enthusiastic and easy to absorb way. The training venue is fantastic too 😍
Great venue and even better training
I have just completed a recall workshop with Mel. The course was excellent and i have come away with so many useful games to ensure Sadie remains focused on me when off the lead. I would recommend anyone who wants a better connection with their doggie friend or to gain confidence (as i did) to get in touch with Mel @ Agility Ability. A great, energetic, fun, sympathetic teacher.

We are so grateful for Drew, our dog has absolutely loved being part of the troops since January last year, running about in secure fields for an hour several times a week! We know how much he loves it as when we have been home for when he is picked up he can’t wait to jump in the van and get going! Drew posts pictures and videos of all the dogs on the Facebook page which is great and a nice touch. We would highly recommend Dog soldiers for anyone needing dog walking/dog socialisation as it’s a fab service Drew and his team offers and a bit different to just standard dog walking.
I was quite worried about employing a dog walker initially but Drew soon put my mind at rest, he is always reliable and professional and I know that Dudley is in very safe hands and absolutely loves his walks, I love the little videos too!
Drew is by far one of the nicest dog walkers around! Great value for money and treats the dogs as his own! Thanks so much for all your help Drew!!
I would highly recommend Dog Soldiers, 5 star service. Drew is honest, trustworthy, professional, reliable and flexible. Drew is clearly a dog lover who takes his responsibilities very seriously. I know I have left our puppy in good hands. You also get some fantastic photographs. I can't thank Drew enough for taking on our puppy. Our puppy is getting well socialised with other dogs and people. If you are looking for someone to walk you dog, I would highly recommend contacting Drew.
We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with Drew. Would highly recommend this business!!
Finding qualified dog trainers in Wymondham means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this historic Norfolk market town. From training puppies near the iconic Wymondham Abbey to managing recall in the open spaces of Kett's Park, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to local life.
Serving all areas including Wymondham town centre, Silfield, Browick Road, and surrounding villages, we've successfully trained over 800 dogs across the area in the past eight years. Our expertise addresses the specific needs of dog ownership in this close-knit community, from navigating Market Place on busy days to enjoying countryside walks along local footpaths.
Wymondham presents distinct training opportunities shaped by its blend of historic town centre, residential developments, and easy access to Norfolk countryside. The town's excellent green spaces including Kett's Park and Chapel Fields provide ideal training environments, while proximity to rural footpaths means dogs need solid recall skills around livestock and wildlife. Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for both town and country living, ensuring they behave impeccably whether at Wymondham Market or on countryside rambles.
With many residents owning properties with gardens yet regularly using public spaces, training focuses on creating well-mannered dogs who respect boundaries, respond reliably to commands, and socialise appropriately with other dogs at popular walking spots. We understand local considerations including seasonal agricultural activities, wildlife preservation, and the friendly community atmosphere where well-behaved dogs are warmly welcomed throughout the town.
Our puppy programmes build essential foundations during the critical 8-16 week socialisation period. We introduce young dogs to Wymondham's environment including town centre activity, traffic along Norwich Road, and varied rural stimuli. Training covers house training, crate training, bite inhibition, and fundamental commands, with controlled socialisation sessions helping puppies develop confidence around other dogs and people in spaces like Kett's Park.
For Wymondham dogs enjoying local countryside access, reliable recall is essential. Our advanced training develops off-lead control despite distractions including rabbits, deer, livestock, and other dogs. We train in varied locations to ensure dogs respond consistently whether in Kett's Park, on bridleways, or near farmland, giving owners confidence their dogs will return immediately when called.
Our behaviour modification programmes address leash reactivity, fear-based responses, and aggression using positive reinforcement techniques. We help dogs learn calm responses to triggers they encounter on Wymondham's streets and parks, replacing unwanted behaviours with focus and self-control through systematic desensitisation protocols.
Dog training in Wymondham typically ranges from £35-65 per hour for private sessions, with package deals offering better value at £250-450 for 6-8 week programmes. Group classes cost approximately £10-18 per session, while puppy courses average £140-240. Local trainers often provide free initial consultations and mobile services throughout Wymondham and surrounding villages at no extra charge.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old, as early experiences shape lifelong behaviour. The critical socialisation window between 8-16 weeks makes early exposure to Wymondham's town and countryside environments essential. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations around 10-12 weeks, though adult dogs benefit from training at any age.
Yes, dogs can achieve reliable off-lead control for countryside access through progressive training.
