Vicki has been absolutely incredible with our dog bruno. He takes some time to get comfortable with new people but he created a bond with Vicki on our first walk together as she just understood him so well and gained his trust! She’s helping us get Bruno more comfortable with the vets as well as walking Bruno when we go away. I’m so glad I found Vicki as I never have to worry. Her knowledge about dog behaviour and working with nervous dogs has been an enormous help in Bruno’s progress, we don’t know what we’d do without her anymore 🫶
Ever since Vicky came out with my German Shepherd Axel and myself, our daily walks have become really chilled out and enjoyable thanks to Vickys de-escalation techniques and enforcement of positive behaviour, I would recommend Vicky to any dog owner with a challenging best friend. Thankyou Vicky from Axel and myself, Marc
I had a very nervous Jack Russell who was so frightened to go to the vet that he used to dig his heels in once we reached the car park and had to be carried in and restrained for any treatment. That was until we met Vicki. She has worked so hard to turn this around by using sessions within the vet surgery to reduce his fear. He now willingly walks in to the vets, and we recently had a successful vaccination session with no fear, no stress, and no need for restraint. I know this would never have been the case if it wasn’t for Vicki. Her sessions are always so well structured, but delivered with an element of fun that allows her to engage with the dog to achieve the desired results. We are now working on desensitising him to other interventions: stethoscopes, dental checks and eye checks. If you want to desensitise your dog to vet visits, I can’t recommend Vicki highly enough. Thank you Vicki, I don’t know what me and Hooper would do without you :)
Absolutely incredible behaviourist and dog trainer. I have had the privilege of working with Vicki in a clinical setting and she has literally transformed so many frightened pets who were scared to come into the vets - kindness, gentle training and encouragement are her trademarks. If you have any challenging issues hindering your pets life, give Vicki a call!
Vicki spent over an hour with my German Shepherd Axel and myself recently, Vicki,s behavioural knowledge and ability to compare animal behaviour to human behaviour has really helped me correct how I reacted to Axel's behaviour and him to mine. I would recommend this amazing lady to any dog owner, Thank you Vicki, Marc and Axel

Madoc and I had a fantastic time doing the puppy class. Marta is very welcoming friendly and professional .I would highly recommend her classes to anyone with a puppy.
We were made to feel really welcome and was able to accommodate my mum as well who struggles to stand for too long. My puppy, that I was seriously struggling with basic recall with, managed to improve on that from the first lesson. The lessons were fun and interactive and informative. I would come back and would recommend Marta every time.

Kelford trained my beautiful dog. I was so pleased with the results, she walks to heel beautifully. They trained her to be a lovely dog. Would highly recommend them.
Working with Lyndon and Kelly at Kelford has been really transformational for our family and Satch. Satch is a GWP x Vizsla and was high energy from the start and we really struggle to manage it; Satch would always do his own thing and nothing we did seemed to engage him. Now that we’ve been working with Kelford we feel like we have a connection with Satch and get genuine engagement from him. We can now go places and feel confident that we are in control of Satch and he responds to us. The tools we have gained are invaluable.
Kelly’s depth of knowledge about dog breeds, related traits and behaviours, cause and effect is immense. Kelly is passionate about ensuring the handler really understands their dog and breed traits in order to develop the best possible relationship for both dog and owner. Kelly has helped me immeasurably with my Viszla after spending 4 mornings with her undivided attention we made phenomenal progress as a team. I can’t recommend Kelly highly enough everything she says makes complete sense and is a game changer. Thank you.
I can’t rate Kelford Dog Training enough, I just feel so lucky that they’re right on my doorstep! I’d had several calls with trainers prior to finding them and a lot were treat based and food wasn’t a motivator for my puppy! After speaking to Lyndon, I knew he was the right trainer. Everything was tailored to the specific dog and breed, rather than a one approach suits all. I turned up with a wildly energetic dog that almost pulled me out of the car with so much bounce! I now have a wonderfully mannered dog who is an absolute dream to take out in all situations. It’s great to be able to go and eat at the pub whilst our dog just lies down next to us, completely calm and relaxed! I also didn’t expect such amazing after care, in which Lyndon has gone above and beyond with. I would certainly recommend Kelford for anyone wanting to train their dog!
We feel so fortunate to have had the guidance and continued support of Kelly and Lyndon at Kelford for our Hungarian Viszla Roma. From puppy selection, initial training and a few holiday visits we have had nothing but a positive experience. The knowledge of dogs and specific breeds is remarkable and their passion for what they do if infectious. We now have a beautiful family pet with the reassurance that they are just a phone call or visit away if we need support. We can't recommend them enough.

Top drawer dog training.
Finding a qualified dog trainer in Penmaenmawr means working with professionals who understand the unique challenges of raising dogs in this beautiful coastal town nestled between Snowdonia National Park and the Irish Sea. From training puppies to explore the Sychnant Pass safely to managing reactive dogs along the busy A55 coastal route, our certified trainer delivers personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to Penmaenmawr's distinctive environment.
Serving the LL34 postcode area including Dwygyfylchi, Capelulo, and the surrounding Conwy countryside, we've successfully trained dogs throughout this tight-knit community where mountain walks, beach access, and village life create specific training requirements for responsible dog ownership.
Penmaenmawr presents unique training challenges shaped by its dramatic landscape and rural coastal character. Dogs here need reliable recall for exploring Penmaenmawr Mountain and the surrounding hills, solid lead manners for navigating narrow village streets and the coastal promenade, and calm behaviour around livestock encountered on nearby farmland and mountain paths.
The town's close proximity to Snowdonia means many dogs encounter challenging terrain, unpredictable weather, and wildlife including sheep on the hillsides. Our training prepares dogs for safe adventures whether walking the North Wales Path, exploring Penmaenmawr Beach at low tide, or hiking to the prehistoric sites dotting the surrounding peaks. We also address the noise sensitivity issues some dogs develop from living near the busy A55 and occasional quarry blasting.
Reliable recall is essential for safely enjoying Penmaenmawr's stunning surroundings. We build bombproof recall despite distractions including sheep, rabbits, and other walkers encountered on popular routes like the Sychnant Pass and Penmaen Walk. Training ensures your dog returns immediately when called, even with the temptation of scents and wildlife throughout the Carneddau foothills.
Living near active farmland requires dogs to ignore sheep and cattle completely. Our specialist livestock training uses positive reinforcement to teach dogs to remain calm and focused on handlers when encountering farm animals on footpaths and common land, ensuring safe, responsible countryside access that respects local farming communities.
Dog training in Penmaenmawr typically costs £35-60 per hour for private sessions, with package deals offering better value. Group classes when available cost £10-18 per session. Many trainers travel to Penmaenmawr from nearby Conwy or Llanfairfechan, so confirm travel fees upfront to avoid surprises.
Penmaenmawr Beach provides excellent distraction training during permitted times, while quieter paths around Graiglwyd offer controlled environments for building foundations. The promenade works well for lead training, and the fields near Plas Mawr allow safe off-lead practice away from livestock and main roads.
