We first contacted Roger approximately 18 months ago to help us with our crazy Chocolate Labrador puppy, Bear. Fast forward to the current day and Roger has helped us transform Bear into the perfect pup! He is so obedient and well behaved that we often get compliments from people when we are out and about with him. The only problem is that Roger has helped us so much that we thought it would be a good idea to challenge ourselves with another Chocolate Labrador Puppy, Rolo! He has just started his training journey with Roger and we are already starting to see positive progress. We cannot recommend Roger aka Dovesflight Dog Training enough!
We called Roger because we were at our wits end and with a baby on the way needed help quickly. Our 2.5 year old GSD is a super sweet soft boy but when out his heel work was not perfect and we found ourselves constantly having to correct him, he would also lunge, bark, growl etc at pretty much every dog we passed and it's safe to say walks were not becoming enjoyable. Despite having tried 2 trainers in the past we felt like we weren't getting anywhere and the training methods just didn't work for him or us. We also couldn't trust him around other dogs off lead his drive just had him ignoring us completely (no matter what we did) and running towards other dogs. In just 3 sessions with Roger the change in Max and us (because it's all about training the human) is almost unrecognisable & even after the first session several family members commented on the noticeable difference already. We are still at the early stages of our training but with Roger's help we have all the tools we now need to get the best out of Max and have Max get the best out of us. If you are considering Roger, don't think just go for it! Our only regret is that we didn't get in touch with him sooner.
Roger has helped us so much to be able to have a calm and well behaved dog . We are know able to enjoy walks and days out with no trouble. Before going to Doveflight are wired haired vizsla was a thief for food , very high energy and had pick up bad habits from running off and not listening to commands. We have enjoyed every training sessions with Roger learning so much and being able to come away with a well behaved dog. Highly recommend
Thanks Roger for all you have done with scooby. You have helped us make a ex hunting working resuce dog which couldn't be walked off led or near any game animals with out being reactive. To now he can be let off In appropriate places and now responding to commands.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Game-Changer for Us and Our Working Cocker Spaniel We took our 18 month old Working Cocker Spaniel, Bailey, to Doves Flight Gundog Training after realising we’d hit a bit of a wall. He is a lovely dog, full of energy and affection, but also a real handful. Pulling on the lead, jumping up, no recall, and even barking for attention... walks weren’t relaxing, and cafés or pubs were off-limits unless we fancied chaos with our coffee. From the very first session, Roger’s approach stood out. Calm, experienced, and straight-talking. What became clear very quickly was that this wasn’t just about training Bailey, it was about educating us. We'd been far too soft with Bailey, treating him more like a 'mate' than a dog who needed guidance and clear boundaries. And because of that, Bailey simply didn’t see us as ‘leaders’ worth listening to. From the first session, the difference has been remarkable. Bailey now walks beautifully on a loose lead, and we’re well on the way to reliable off-lead heel work. He comes back when called, even when there’s something far more exciting going on, and he settles down quietly in the house. No more climbing on furniture, owning the couch or ruling the roost! He’s back to sleeping in his crate, which he now clearly sees as his safe and calm space. One of the biggest changes is how much more enjoyable life is with him. We can now take him out to a café or pub, and he settles without needing constant reassurance or fuss. He’s still very much a ‘work in progress’, but we’re on the right path—and both enjoying the journey. If you’re struggling with a gundog who’s running rings around you, or just want a better relationship with your dog based on mutual respect rather than chaos, I can’t recommend Roger highly enough. His knowledge, support, and down-to-earth teaching style have transformed things for us and made Bailey a much happier, more balanced dog.

Joyful Dogs' puppy life skills course with Helen was excellent. We looked forward to the class each week and learned so much. Helen is great at helping you understand your puppy and was very patient and encouraging, treating each dog as an individual, taking into account their breed and personality so that no one was left behind. In between classes the WhatsApp group was also a really valuable - a place to exchange tips, challenges and achievements, and get midweek advice for various puppy life skills. We and our pup Robin thoroughly recommend Puppy Life Skills with Helen.
I’d highly recommend Helen at Joyful Dogs for puppy training! She was recommended to me by another local trainer and I’m so glad that happened. We have learned so much and over the 6 weeks encountered a few challenging behaviours at home that Helen really helped me work through and make a difference to. Honey has come on so much, she is focused and engaged and really enjoyed the sessions and the practice we have done at home. Helen is calm yet assertive and creates the perfect environment for people and their puppies to learn. I’m so grateful to have found her course and Honey is very proud of her rosette!
After not having a puppy for a number of years, Helen eased all of our worries and got us on the right track with training. Classes are chilled but teach all the initial tips and pointers to continue training once the sessions sadly end!
A brilliant puppy class course covering a range of skills to make being a puppy parent so much smoother. We also opted for a 121 session at home before the classes commenced which was invaluable. Thanks Helen for a great introduction to puppy life!

Vinny is an incredible trainer, can not praise him enough
Vinny is just an incredible dog trainer, he makes it seem so simple and it was such a shock to see how well our stubborn dog just picked everything up. Vinny clearly understands completely how dogs think and act and teaches you so well all the techniques to help your dog in a way that the dog actually enjoys being trained and responds really well to it. I’m amazed at what our dog is now disciplined with, we could never distract him from food or barking at other dogs and now we can easily make him wait for food and stop barking at dogs. Highly recommended!
I take my dog Fennec to Agility with Vinny at Cotswold Dog Training and highly recommend it. Great fun, good exercise for you and your dog. Vinny is very knowledgeable and patient.
Vinny has trained my dog since he was a puppy. We now go to agility classes where we have great fun in a friendly, supportive environment. Vinny is fantastic at what he does.
I have attended agility sessions run by Vinnie. Not only is he patient with dogs, but also with humans. His expertise shines through. I can tell he really understands dogs; what they might be thinking, and why the behave in a certain way. He instructs how to correct something in an accessible and understandable way.

Helen was incredible with our rescue collie Bliss. She was patient, knowledgeable and understanding. Her experience shone through and she was able to explain and show us things in a way we could understand. She is always at the end of a text message if we have any worries and that is a blessing when you’re trying to navigate dog behaviour. Bliss was always the priority in every session and you can tell how much she loves her animals. I would absolutely recommend Helen, she is brill, don’t hesitate to book with Helen if you are looking for help, direction and peace of mind. ❤️
We cannot recommend Helen enough - we first reached out to the WP when our Lab was approx. 9 months old and got kicked out of his walking pack for some behaviour and training issues. Helen is incredibly knowledgeable and you can tell she is very passionate about her job. She identified the issue and her strategies made so much sense and most importantly, they worked! You have to be consistent with the strategies and training to continue seeing long-term results but it is so worth it! We have a very happy and healthy, 2 year old goofball. We have also been using the WP in recent weeks for Helen's dog-walking services and our dog is clearly comfortable and happy in her pack!
Helen listened to my worries and helped me to understand my dog’s responses to certain situations. She was patient and gave me various strategies which have made walking my dog less stressful and given me confidence in managing her.
Helen was very personable, approachable & took the time to work with us to address a couple of issues with our (quite a big 6mth old puppy)! Jumping up & running up to other dogs, not listening to recall. She spent time with our pup & myself together at our local field & home to give us some pointers & techniques to use. We have been working on this now for a few weeks & our pup has been brill. He's doing so well just from Helen helping us to change a few techniques.highly recommend her, she's very knowledgeable & passionate about her work with our babies 🐕 🐾
The Woof Pack took on my little rescue Jack Russel called Pea and sorted me out of a tough spot where I didn't have a walker. The staff at the business are absolutely great with Pea and understand her needs - she's sensitive as a result of a rough past. I am entirely grateful for their patience, service and professionalism and would recommend them completely. Thank you.

Beth and her team are incredible. She approaches everything she does with creativity, energy and professionalism. The perfect engaging learning platform for kiddos, grownups and dogs alike. We are privileged to be part of the Barking Bud community.
Barking Buds isn’t just a training programme it’s a community. Duggie went along to their puppy programme from 13 weeks old and found the positive game based training so enjoyable and beneficial. As a result of his training we still get comments about how well balanced and focused he is. Noticing just how well Duggie was responding to, and thoroughly enjoying, training we continued onto the immersion classes. These were incredibly useful once Duggie reached the ‘teenage stage’ and everyone at Barking Buds was always there for reassurance and advice. Despite being over 13 months Duggie still loves helping out at youth training and going on the social walks. It really is a community full of support and genuine care.
I was lucky enough to be one of the first couple of people on to the barking buds trainer mentorship program and I can say that is without a doubt one of the best things I ever did. Alongside developing both my knowledge and practical application of dog training it was also a massive part of me developing the confidence to speak to and teach, not just people I have never met on one too one basis but also large groups at the same time. Beth ensured that i constantly felt in control whilst pushing me to progress out of my comfort zone and develop as a trainer. As someone that also suffers with a chronic pain condition Beth always made sure to adapt her methods not only to suit myself but so i knew for the future how to adapt them to clients with disabilities. All in all i would recommend the barking buds trainer mentorship program to anyone who is thinking about becoming a trainer every single time.
Beth, Aimee and the team have been amazing with our new dog penny. Starting off with the puppie classes and moving into the more advanced classes we've seen some huges changed in our dog. Hugely recommend to anyone looking to keep up with dog training and dog control.
