These puppy training classes were excellent! I use a rollator to walk and Kathryn helped me change exercises to accommodate my needs and adjust to doing them with my rollator. The classes were detailed, plenty of opportunity for questions or extra help and taught the basics of puppyhood such as the following commands: Sit, stay, recall, leave it, heel work, focus on owner, etc. The classes were a maximum of 5 which was a lot better and meant Kathryn could give each of us the individual attention and provide alternative ways, adjustments and methods of training. She showed the value of high value versus lower value treats and how to slowly reduce value, quantity and need for treats as we progress and to replace with affection instead of treats. At the end, we got a certificate and rosette for completing the class. I would highly recommend this puppy class for new puppy parents.
Great course. Learned a lot and would recommend it.
Had a great experience with Luna at puppy training, Luna has gained some great skills and I have also learnt a lot in dog behaviour. Highly recommend.
Kathryn is a fabulous trainer, the whole puppy training course was so enjoyable. We were all made to feel welcome and comfortable. The easy way in which Kathryn explains things helps you feel confident and motivated to work with your pup. We loved every minute - wish it was a bit longer though as it was so good.
Kathryn is a brilliant trainer. We struggled to get our dog onto a puppy training course and Kathryn suggested the Gun Dog Training Stage 1 as an alternative. This was perfect as we learnt basic commands and developed our bond. We now have the skills needed to manage a very active young dog. We loved it!

I have had 1 session with Steph, shes incredibly helpful and explains everything so well so you get a real understanding. After just one session I have seen a massive difference in my dog and feel so much more confident. Since her training i've had the most stress free walks Ive had in ages. I would definitely recommend to anyone!!
We are so grateful for the help Steph has provided us with for our rescue cocker spaniel Milly. She experienced some reactivity to dogs which escalated and made me very anxious when walking her which wasn't great for either of us! Steph set us up with clear tasks to complete, showed us how to do them and was easily contactable in between sessions for us to share progress videos. Milly is so much happier and we feel so well equipped to deal with things that make her feel worried. The change in her behaviour is massive! Thank you so much Steph for all your help! Milly is grateful for all the adventures she now gets to go on!
Steph has been an absolute gift to me and my very anxious Sprocker, Peggy. Steph has equipped me and Peggy with the skills and confidence to be able to enable Peggy to start walking again after anxiety caused her to be so crippled by fear she was unable to walk off the driveway. Steph’s gentle encouragement, kindness and wisdom have been such a help both to Peggy and to me as her owner and I now have a dog who won’t just go on walks, but actually enjoys walking. I would highly recommend Steph to any dog parent who needs a helping hand.
As first time dog owners we had a lot to learn and, fortunately ,we were recommended Stephs services. We booked a block of four sessions and have gained so much. Our pup is now very happy, content and healthy as our we! We have gained so much from Steph including how our actions are interpreted, the best ways to encourage good behaviour and also invaluable information on food, toys, leads, harnesses etc. Steph has so much knowledge and experience that she has covered all the questions that we have put to her, of which there were many, and we are much more confident dog owners in a short space of time which can only be good news for our pup.
We were looking for a 1:1 dog trainer to support us with our adolescence chocolate Labrador (Mabel). We had attended puppy classes but were at the point where we felt the techniques learnt weren’t working. We were beginning to no longer enjoy walks due to Mabel pulling heavily on the lead and reacting to other dogs (either stopping walking, lying down or lunging towards dogs) Mabel was completely unfocused and didn’t listen to us on walks/outdoors resulting in no recall!! We therefore did not have confidence to take Mabel to new places apart from our local park. We chose Steph after reading lots of positive reviews and were very glad we did. Steph took time to listen to the issues we were having and observe Mabel’s behaviour both indoors and outdoors. The training advice, techniques and games were then tailored to Mabel and us as handlers making them very practical. Steph was patient and able to explain simply how Mabel was presenting so we understood. Following the block of sessions, Mabel is now more focused on us when outdoors in different locations, we have techniques to reduce her reactivness to other dogs. We have ongoing work to do, to continue progressing and will have top up sessions with Steph to ensure we are on right path and progressing.

The scent work class really helped build our 8 month old Cocker Spaniel Lottie's confidence. With the guidance of Kath and Grace, we are now equipped with lots of activities that are really good for a busy Cocker Spaniel mind and she really enjoys them! We would really recommend this class.
I took Wanda training as she is a high energy JRT who needs to learn new things but also have fun. We have worked through L A levels 1 and 2 and now working towards level 3. We both really enjoy the classes and Marcia patiently helps us through the exercises. I can’t recommend LCA highly enough! Just brilliant training and such fun ! Katherine and Wanda
We have just completed our 6 week puppy class with Marcia and it was the best decision we ever made!!! We can now take Lilo anywhere with us and thanks to LCA she knows how to behave when we are out and about! We will definitely be moving on to the adolescence class and continuing our journey at LCA 🐾❤️
My little rescue dog Louis has attended and passed his level 1 - 5 IMDT Training, he is now working through his LCA grades. Well what can I say, Louis has grown in confidence week by week by attending these courses. He was an anxious and timid little boy due to him not being previously socialised, his confidence grows week by week, and he's learning new things that will set him (and me) up for life, yes because us humans need guidance and support to help our 4 legged friends. Marcia is knowledgeable, kind and compassionate, at times I've turned up to a class virtually in bits because I've not quite got it right with Louis, she does not judge but gently guides me the right way. Louis absolutely loves "school" but more importantly we put into practice what we gave learnt in the real world cos that's the bit that matters. A little dog that is no longer afraid of everything at the other side of the front door. I highly recommend Lancashire CanineAcademy, Marcia is a very experienced force free dog trainer. Thanks Marcia from Louis and I 😊🐾
Our Peanut learnt tricks we didn't think he was capable of here. Super friendly and informative, highly recommended.

Dawn is an amazing dog handler/trainer. She is very enthusiastic, and realistic regarding each dog's ability. Understanding that most of our dogs are pets we want to be happy, sociable animals. Harrison’s Dog Training was recommended by our local vet as an experienced positive skills based trainer. We chose the Pet Gun Dog classes for our Labrador, to work on engagement and impulse control. She has thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and it has been great to see her use her working dog brain in a fun, force free environment. We would highly recommend Harrison’s Dog Training for all breeds of dog, as there are classes for many different abilities and ages.
Very patient and understanding with our reactive dog Flora
Highly recommend these puppy classes our puppy has enjoyed them very much and we both have learned a lot which will definitely be helpful going forward *****
Having taken on a rescue from Romania we were beginning to despair if we could ever get him to settle and behave but Myles gave us the tools and the confidence that made the difference. We now have a more contented and well behaved dog. It takes dedication but with Myles help and support it has been so worth it.
Have been using Harrisons since my dog was 3 months old. Started with puppy class, moving onto Bronze awards and also had some 1-2-1 support. Myles has great knowledge in dog training and behaviours. Together with Tina and their doggy helpers make a great team and i would highly recommend for a dog of any age and ability.
