Excellent! Learnt so much about my dog, Denise is great. Thanks again from Louise, Chris and Barry.
We wanted to give a huge shoutout to Denise , who worked absolute magic with our 4-year-old Cavapoo, Molly. Before working with Denise, Molly was a nervous pup, especially around other dogs, and walks had become more stressful than enjoyable. Over 4 training sessions, Denise helped Molly feel calmer and more confident. She not only taught Molly how to manage her interactions, but also gave us the tools to support her in the right way. The difference has been incredible—Molly is now enjoying her walks again, sniffing, tail wagging and all! Seeing her happy, relaxed, and her playful self again has been such a joy. If you're looking for a patient, kind, and truly skilled trainer, Denise is the one. We can't thank her enough!
Denise ‘gets’ dogs. Patient, positive reinforcement, techniques that work.
We had a great 6 weeks! Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Patricia is very knowledgeable in behaviour, nutrition and training. She has been so patient not only with my dog, but me too, as I can take a while to process the information. Lessons are well structured with a handy recap message sent out later in the day for you to practice. Would highly recommend 👌
We recently completed the Puppy Foundation class with The K9 Camp with our BMD puppy Robyn and couldn’t be more impressed. The small class size made it a comfortable, focused environment where both pups and owners received plenty of individual attention. Patricia the trainer was incredibly knowledgeable and offered excellent hands-on advice throughout the session. Despite having dogs before and attended other training classes, the instructions and commands introduced here were completely new to me—and they totally made sense. Everything was explained clearly and practically, giving us a much better understanding of how to communicate effectively with our puppy. We left the session feeling confident and well-equipped to continue training at home. I 100% recommend this class to any new puppy owner—it’s a game-changer.
Me and my Staffie x puppy just completed the puppy training class and she has come on so well in the last 6 weeks. The training and environment was everything I wanted when I was looking for a puppy class, teaching the dogs to train and stay focused when other dogs and people are around. Patricia gave me some really good advice too and always gives honest feedback to make sure you’re doing everything correct. I recommend her to anyone and everyone looking for puppy classes 😊
Great trainer who understands different methods for different breeds. We have a minature dachshund and she was really good when i didnt want to use a slip lead and found other ways easily to train him! His reactivity has lowered and he is starting to listen to me ! 😀 Booked in for next session and highly recommend!
We decided to take our 11 week old puppy to training classes as early as possible, to get the socialisation of seeing other pups but also ensuring his focus stayed on us while surrounded by these distractions. From the first week Patricia’s training was exactly what we were after, she was very thorough and informative with her training. This is our first puppy so we didn’t have much expectations of what the outcome of the training would be, but I am pleased to say that Patricia outdid our expectations and our puppy has learned a lot of key skills from the training - and so have we! The main skill being walking to heel, as well as learning other basic manners a pup should have. We have also been encouraged to continue training what we learnt even though the block of classes are over, to improve on the manners and skills over time. I would definitely recommend Patricia’s training to anyone with a young puppy.

Very straight laced trainer who knows what they are talking about. My dog has come a very long way from having an extreme lack of confidence and being sick every time I tried to take him for a walk to strutting his stuff around the park. They made sure my bad habits were corrected, and I had the knowledge I needed so that my dog was getting the best of the training at home as well as at the school. I am very thankful for what they have done for us. If you're looking for help with your dog(s), I recommend Problem Pawz
Fiona is very intuitive and effective. Puts her training analyisis into working practise. She makes you feel at ease whilst working with your pet. Response from pet was also better than expected. A caring and hard working professional whose aim is to have you enjoy your pet with no issues.
Fiona is all about the dog and kind humane training teqnique that you and your dog can manage at home till your next appt Fiona is good as she uses a combination of praise rather than to much treat based training which some others trainers do too much of which I personally like as your dog will learn better rather than being coaxed with to much food based orientated training

First time coming here and will be the last. I felt the field was totally unkempt, kept losing balls in the long grass. No shelter/seating area for owners to sit and or shelter from the elements as I am not good on my feet or walking any distance without sitting down.
My dog loves coming here and the staff are always helpful and welcoming
Never seem to get my 2 dogs booked in as been there before for home boarding and the owner keeps saying she is fully booked up for the year and I asked at the start of last January 2022. Seemed a good place at the time, but!!!!
Great place. Friendly staff and husky loved it
Finding an experienced dog trainer in Stonehaven means connecting with professionals who understand the unique challenges of coastal living and the tight-knit community atmosphere of this historic Aberdeenshire town. Whether you're training a puppy to navigate the busy harbour area, managing reactive behaviour along the clifftop walks, or building recall skills at Stonehaven Beach, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience programmes, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation tailored to local conditions.
Serving Stonehaven and surrounding areas including Newtonhill, Portlethen, and Catterline, we've successfully trained over 450 dogs in the past eight years. Our expertise addresses coastal-specific challenges from seagull distractions to weather resilience, ensuring your dog thrives in this beautiful Scottish seaside setting.
Stonehaven presents unique training requirements shaped by its coastal location, historic attractions, and active community. The town's proximity to dramatic clifftop paths along Dunnottar Castle, the busy harbour with fishing boats and visitors, and popular beach areas means dogs encounter diverse distractions daily. Our trainers specialise in building confidence around seagulls, managing excitement near water, and developing reliable recall despite the temptations of wildlife and coastal smells.
With many residents enjoying outdoor activities year-round, dogs need resilience to Scotland's changeable weather and the ability to behave appropriately in community spaces like the town centre, Marine Hotel area, and during events such as the annual Fireballs ceremony. We address these specific needs while creating well-adjusted dogs suited to both quiet residential streets and bustling seafront locations.
Our puppy programmes focus on early socialisation to Stonehaven's unique environment including beach surfaces, harbour activity, and clifftop winds. Training covers essential commands, house training, and controlled exposure to other dogs at popular walking spots like Mineralwell Park, building confident puppies ready for coastal life.
We address reactivity issues common on narrow coastal paths and busy harbour walkways using positive reinforcement techniques. Our systematic approach helps dogs remain calm when encountering other walkers, wildlife, and the stimulating sights and sounds of this active seaside community.
Developing reliable off-lead control is essential for safely enjoying Stonehaven's beaches and open spaces. We train solid recall despite seabirds, interesting smells, and other dogs, ensuring your companion can enjoy exercise at Stonehaven Beach and surrounding coastal areas while responding immediately to commands.
Dog training in Stonehaven typically ranges from £35-60 per hour for private sessions, with package deals offering better value at £200-400 for six-week programmes. Group classes cost approximately £10-18 per session. Local trainers often provide free initial consultations and mobile services throughout Stonehaven and nearby villages.
Yes, dogs can be trained for safe off-lead beach activities through progressive recall training and distraction work. We use Stonehaven Beach during quieter times to build reliability around seabirds, waves, and other dogs, gradually introducing more challenging conditions. Most dogs achieve reliable beach recall within 8-12 weeks of consistent training.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old. Early exposure to Stonehaven's coastal environment during the critical 8-16 week socialisation period helps develop confident, well-adjusted dogs. Puppies can join group classes after their first vaccinations at approximately 10-12 weeks, though dogs of any age benefit from professional training.
