Donna is amazing i have had 2 session with with my 7 month labrador and what a change in his behaviour, would highly recommend Donna for her knowledge ,patience. Donna has not only helped with Rocco’s confidence but also with my confidence. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. Thank you so much Donna 😀
We had our first session with Donna a few weeks ago and we had a positive experience from the first contact. She is knowledgeable, experienced and showed an incredible kindness to our dog who needs support with reactiveness. She was patient and took time to explain everything clearly, what she was doing and why whilst showing us how. We learned so much just in one session and the notes that followed were detailed, personalised with lots of ideas of starting points and how we might progress with training. These notes are excellent as a reference point and for keeping us on track with training. We are starting to see small progressions which we were unsure we would see. She was realistic and honest about supporting a high level of reactivity and how that might affect our dog now and in the future which we appreciated. Would 100% recommend, thanks so much Donna!
Incredible insight and guidance all the way with Donna. Encouraged me to watch for subtle cues and act on them rather than allowing unwanted and potentially overwhelming cycles of behaviour to spiral. Incredible progress with separation anxiety - my 10 month old lad was 6.5 months old when he started and I couldn't get to the door without him whining and stressing. He's currently able to entertain himself and snooze for well over 3 and 3/4 hours and counting now. A compassionate, positive, intelligent and effective trainer. Highly recommended!!!!
Donna has been an incredible helping us with our little puppy Winnie. She is extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer every question we had (and we had a lot!) During our 1 to 1 sessions, we discussed the challenges we were having and worked on some tailored exercises. Donna would take notes and after each session, she provided an incredibly detailed follow-up document filled with clear instructions and exercises, making it easy to review and practice everything at home. We could really see her knowledge and passion for dog training coming out during out sessions. The level of detail and support is outstanding, and we are so grateful for her guidance in setting Winnie up for success. Thank you very much, and we would highly recommend to anyone bringing home a new puppy!
Donna is absolutely fab! She communicated with me in the run up to our training session so clearly and gave me a really clear idea of what to expect. She is so friendly and my dog, Mack, loved her. When it came to the session itself, she was so good at explaining things and was so patient with Mack and me and helped us understand his reactivity and offered some strategies to practice as well. Super friendly and informative all at the same time. Donna made me feel optimistic about the future and even followed up with incredibly comprehensive notes to refer back to. I wouldn't hesitate to call on her for more advice in future. 😊

Finding qualified dog trainers in Paisley means connecting with professionals who understand the unique needs of Scotland's largest town and its diverse canine community. From training energetic puppies near the historic Paisley Abbey to managing reactive dogs along the scenic Gleniffer Braes Country Park, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes designed for Paisley's urban and semi-rural environment.
Serving all PA1, PA2, and PA3 postcodes including Paisley town centre, Ferguslie Park, Foxbar, and Glenburn, we've successfully trained over 2,800 dogs throughout Renfrewshire in the past decade. Our expertise addresses local challenges from navigating busy Gilmour Street to enjoying off-lead exercise in Barshaw Park and along the White Cart Water.
Paisley's mix of urban streets, historic town centre, and surrounding green spaces creates distinct training requirements. Popular locations like Barshaw Park, Gleniffer Braes, and the grounds near Paisley Museum mean dogs regularly encounter other canines, cyclists, and families, making proper socialisation and recall training essential. Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for Paisley's environment, including desensitisation to traffic along the A737, busy shopping areas around High Street, and the sounds of trains at Paisley Gilmour Street station.
With housing ranging from town centre flats to suburban semi-detached homes, many Paisley residents need dogs with excellent public manners and adaptability for various living situations. We understand local transport links including ScotRail services and McGill's buses, ensuring your dog can confidently travel throughout Renfrewshire and into Glasgow when needed.
Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Paisley's environment including urban sounds, park activities, and varied surfaces. Training covers house training, crate training, bite inhibition, and basic commands while controlled socialisation sessions in locations like Fountain Gardens build confidence around other dogs and people.
We address leash reactivity common on busy walking routes along the White Cart Water and through local parks. Using positive reinforcement and systematic desensitisation, we help dogs learn calm responses to triggers, replacing unwanted behaviours with focus and self-control even in high-distraction environments.
For dogs ready to progress, our advanced training develops reliable off-lead control essential for enjoying Gleniffer Braes and larger parks safely. We build bombproof recall despite wildlife and other dogs, along with distance commands and sophisticated lead work for navigating Paisley's busier streets and shopping areas.
Dog training in Paisley typically costs £35-65 per hour for private sessions, with package deals offering better value at £240-450 for 6-8 week programmes. Group classes generally range from £10-18 per session, while comprehensive puppy courses average £140-260. Specialist behaviour consultations for complex issues cost £55-85 for initial assessments.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old. The critical socialisation window between 8-16 weeks makes early exposure to Paisley's environment essential. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations around 10-12 weeks, though dogs of any age benefit from professional training.
Look for trainers certified by organisations like the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, Association of Pet Dog Trainers UK, or holding Kennel Club Accredited Instructor status. Qualified trainers use positive reinforcement methods based on current animal behaviour science and maintain professional standards through ongoing education.
