Nelly is an absolutely fantastic dog trainer. She has a great knowledge and understanding of the needs and struggles of our Vizsla puppy. Nelly thinks on the spot and adjusts to the situation really quickly. After addressing some of our initial challenges, she often changes up her plan for the session depending on the bits that Marvin is struggling at the time. Marvin still has its challanges, but we can definitely see a big improvement since we started training with Nelly. We're confident he'll become a great dog with Nelly's help and we can't recommend her enough
Had a few Agility lessons with Nikki and find her to be very knowledgeable and patient.
Our trainer Nelly was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and our puppy loved her. The advice she gave was targeted to our individual needs and we have started our training journey. We will be returning and highly recommend.
Nikki is a fantastic dog trainer and also organises additional guest training sessions. The recent training with Emma Pullen was fab picked up some very useful tips on trust building with my cocker spaniel Maverick!

We signed up to the 6 weeks 1-1 training with our dog shadow and wow what a fantastic experience. He went from being anxious, nervous around other dogs, over stimulated with other humans and very excited on the lead. He struggled to settle and struggled in day to day life. Flash forward 6 weeks with Lauren and he is a happy doggy who is more settled, has a much improved recall, is comfortable in new situations and all together less anxious. He has progressed so much in 6 weeks and we cant’t wait to continue his training. Lauren made learning with shadow so easy, personalising the training to his needs and adapting it to his reactions. We have loved the sessions and I know shadow has too. It has helped him become so much more relaxed and has learned some amazing new skills to help with life when it gets too loud. Thank you so much Lauren we are very excited to come to group classes now and continue to progress with our training 😊
Just completed a 6 week private package with focus dog training. Lauren has been amazing with my French bulldog silva and we have all learned so much! I did not think it would be possible to see a difference in her such as pulling on walks or reactive to other dogs but she has. We still have a way to go but all the tips and tricks will definitely help us keep building on enjoyable walks together. Thank you!
We’ve had a really good experience with Focus from the start. Both Rach and Lauren have been super flexible with us which has been great and very much appreciated! You can tell just how much they actually care about the dogs too. Lauren has been a fantastic trainer. We’ve gradually built upon foundational skills over time. After each session she provides feedback and some homework which is great. We’ve seen a HUGE improvement in Cooper’s lead walking, and his engagement with us on walks. We’ve learned what does and doesn’t work for Cooper, and my confidence with knowing how to deal with tricky situations on walks has definitely grown. I’ve gone from not wanting to walk him on my own through fear of him being reactive, to being able to walk him on lead in public spaces and getting him to engage with me. We use the techniques taught by Focus daily and we’re happy with Coopers progress so far. We’re hoping with consistency he continues in the right direction 😊
Lauren has been amazing. We went into this process a bit sceptical but we have learnt things we never could have done reading articles on the internet. We have a deeper understanding as Lauren is full of knowledge and is super efficient during her sessions. They were also really understanding and flexible as we had a few personal issues so had to change a few sessions. Maggie (our 9 month old Cavapoo) has really enjoyed the sessions, and when Lauren was here was the perfect dog! We will continue to put in the hard work as can see the potential and changes in Maggie already.
Wonderful trainers. Really good and helpful advice about dealing with my reactive terrier Jeff. Could not recommend them highly enough.

Sally is great at building confidence, not just mine, but also my dogs confidence has improved and his behaviour is now much calmer. Lots of tools to help manage different dog behaviour problems tailored to each dog. Sally makes you feel so comfortable even when you think your dog is the worst ever, I come away from her sessions feeling much more at ease and able to deal with my dogs issues. A really good dog trainer, I can highly recommend.
Sally has helped me with both my Spanish rescue dogs. My eldest had a recall issue and sally gave me the tools to help, and a valuable insight that I needed to make my walks 50/50 lead and off lead to create interaction and a bond out on walks other than him satisfying his hunting instinct. My youngest dog is quite nervy and skittish. With sallys help, we’ve walked Leeds city centre, travelled on a train & a very busy bus station. 100% recommend 🧡
We contacted Sally to help with one to one training of our staffy, as he was always very keen to pull on the lead and reactive to a selective number of dogs. Sally showed us ways to help in a constructive way, giving advice on changing from a harness to a lead and collar (which made a huge difference). She explains things from a dogs prospective, which makes sense to humans! This shows its mainly the human that needs the training! 😂 A variety of training sessions are available, next up for us is a group social walk and maybe a pub meet up. For anyone looking for help with their dog, I would thoroughly recommend Sally. Thanks Sally!
Had amazing results with our dog from one session - worked on anxious barking and behaviour when guests come to the home. Really happy and would (& have) recommended sally to friends.

Amanda and her husband dog sat for us this past Saturday whilst we were at a family wedding. They were brilliant from start to finish, from initial contact and meeting ahead of the day, to keeping us informed during the day itself. Super affordable, friendly and reliable and we’ll be using again. A few pictures of Hank and Honey out at the cricket for the afternoon which they would’ve loved!
Amanda dog sit my dog at home.Paco was well looked after in his own enviroment,Amanda was great with him!I will definitely repeat with her!
After an unhappy experience with our previous dog walker Amanda has regained both our confidence in his walks away from home. She has instilled a calmness and a trust in him which we hadn't experienced before. I would highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for an experienced, professional dog walker.
Amanda did four home puppy training sessions with my puppy and I. She taught us the basic command the we would practice on our own before the next session. I’d tried YouTube videos etc with not much luck before Amanda but the way she trains is fantastic. Exactly at the right pace for the dog and you can see she absolutely loves what she does. Ralph the Cockapoo went from pulling on the lead to walking perfectly in one session and some home practice!!! Would definitely recommend 👍🏽
Amanda looked after our dog, Alfie, for 3 nights at our house whilst we were away. We got daily updates and photos. We will certainly ask her to look after Alfie again. We strongly recommend her. Thanks Amanda

I would definitely recommend Dawn. We have a Tibetan Terrier, who can be unpredictably reactive and we have worked with Dawn during the past few months. Dawn has given me lots of really useful strategies and has been unfailingly supportive and positive. Nessa is much improved and I now know what to do when she takes the odd backward step. There has been no pressure to book lots of sessions, but Dawn has always made herself available when needed. Thank you 🐶🐾
No longer in the doghouse has been fabulous in helping get our Sprollie Alora from lead walking nightmare to a happy pup walking off lead with great recall. no longer in the doghouse have been professional throughout spending lots of time observing and advising in the best ways to get Alora to walk nicely. Also great alternative courses for keeping your dog tired out with home activities when the weather's less than ideal for outdoor walks.
Would definitely recommend Dawn to anyone who needs to work through problems with their doggos. She is very calm and professional and follows the appointments up with advice which is helpful.
Excellent support and advice for both us and our puppy, can’t thank or recommend Dawn enough
Dawn was great really helped us get through a few tricky situations with our dog. Couldn't recommend her highly enough!
Finding a qualified dog trainer in Leeds city centre means connecting with professionals who understand the unique challenges of urban dog ownership in Yorkshire's vibrant commercial heart. From training puppies in Millennium Square apartments to managing reactive dogs near the Corn Exchange, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes designed for city living.
Serving all LS1, LS2, and LS3 postcode areas including the Calls, Wellington Place, and the expanding South Bank district, we've successfully trained over 1,800 dogs across central Leeds in the past eight years. Our expertise addresses urban challenges from navigating busy Briggate to enjoying off-lead exercise in City Square and along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath.
Leeds city centre presents distinct training challenges shaped by high pedestrian traffic, limited green spaces, and dense urban living. Dogs must learn to remain calm amid shoppers on Trinity Leeds, navigate the bustling Leeds Station concourse, and master recall near the Headrow's constant activity. Our trainers specialise in desensitising dogs to trams on City Square, construction noise from ongoing developments, and the diverse stimuli of markets and street performers.
With most city centre residents living in apartments, flats, and converted warehouses with minimal private outdoor space, dogs require excellent public manners and the ability to settle calmly in confined spaces. Our training creates confident urban dogs ready for Leeds' dog-friendly cafés, bars, and cultural venues throughout the city core.
Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Leeds city centre's unique environment including pedestrianised zones, outdoor dining areas, and public transport. Training covers flat-appropriate house training, crate training for apartment living, and essential commands. Sessions near Park Square and along the waterfront help puppies develop confidence around urban stimuli, preventing future anxiety issues.
City centre living often intensifies reactivity issues due to constant dog encounters on narrow pavements and in confined spaces. Our behaviour modification programmes address leash reactivity, barrier frustration in ground-floor flats, and stress responses to urban noise. Using positive reinforcement along quieter routes near Granary Wharf and the canal, we gradually build tolerance and teach calm responses to triggers.
We specialise in training dogs for Leeds' vibrant urban lifestyle. This includes settling in dog-friendly venues like the restaurants around Call Lane, walking calmly through Victoria Gate, maintaining composure in lifts and stairwells, and navigating crowds during events at Leeds Arena. Dogs learn proper café etiquette, pedestrian zone behaviour, and how to travel confidently on buses serving the city centre.
Dog training in Leeds city centre typically ranges from £45-80 per hour for private sessions, with 6-week programmes averaging £320-550. Group classes cost £15-25 per session. City centre trainers often offer mobile services to apartments and can conduct training in nearby locations like the Aire Valley or Park Square, with no additional travel fees within LS1-LS3 postcodes.
Despite limited green space, Leeds city centre offers excellent training locations including Park Square gardens, the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath from Granary Wharf, City Square during quieter hours, and the riverside paths along the Aire. We also utilise quieter pedestrianised areas early morning for controlled distraction training, with nearby Woodhouse Moor providing additional space for off-lead work.
Absolutely. We specialise in training dogs for city centre apartment living, addressing challenges like lift travel, corridor encounters with neighbours, settling quietly to prevent noise complaints, and adapting to limited outdoor access. Most dogs adjust successfully within 4-8 weeks of consistent training, learning to remain calm in shared spaces and developing appropriate toilet routines for high-rise living.
Professional dog training in Leeds city centre creates well-adjusted urban companions ready for the unique demands of metropolitan living. Our proven methods combine modern training techniques with deep understanding of city centre challenges, ensuring your dog thrives whether you live in a Brewery Wharf apartment or a converted Victorian building near the markets.
