Ash is amazing and has put me and my dog down the correct path to help me in the future. Ash has given me tips and hints on how work with my dog to get best out of him and to improve our relationship. It was amazing to see the change in my dogs behaviour so quickly after just one lesson. Really appreciate the help that ash has given me.

The sessions with Ash are brilliant. Clearly he is an expert in his field and is very happy to share the knowledge he has gained. His training has had a huge impact on my puppies progress, delivering great results with walking on and off the lead and socialisation with other dogs. We can’t thank him enough

I first met Ashley approximately 12 years ago in Herefordshire. I booked a puppy lesson with my new GSD and a lesson with my adult GSD. Each lesson lasted one and half hours .The lessons were very informative . Ashley was friendly, helpful, full of knowledge plus everything “dog”. From that point on, following the rules and training shown, my beloved GSD’s led a wonderful life. My current 6 month old GSD started to show some reactivity and I knew it was time to touch base again with Ashley. One lesson with Ashley and the problem was sorted. Ashley was so helpful with lots of advice moving forward and was very keen to cover everything before he left. Ashley is a hands on trainer and demonstrates what is expected and how it works. I would 100% recommend Ashley for any breed of dog and their problems. If you are lucky enough to meet his dogs you will see exactly how and why his methods and knowledge work.

We were ready to give up on our puppy until we met Tatiana. She has restored our faith . Supportive , goes over and above and obviously loves what she does. She’s firm but kind to the puppies . Having had Tatiana come to our house which I think is the best thing we did , we’ve now joined her follow on classes for older puppies and will be enjoying her scent class later in the year . We would like to thank you Tatiana because without you we would have rehomed him. Thank you from all of us .

We really enjoyed the puppy classes with Tatiana and Liz. Our puppy was older (7 months old) than the other puppies and was made to feel very welcome by the trainers and the other dog owners. It was a friendly group. The classes covered the basics with lots of individual advice and tips shared. We were lucky with the weather and it was great being able to do most of the classes outside in the field. It was a very practical class and the dogs were engaged in activities most of the time. I would highly recommend the classes and hope to continue further training with the team.

Highly recommend Tatiana's Adult dog courses. We have now completed 2 'blocks' of classes and I am really keen to continue. Compared to the puppy training we did elsewhere, these classes are worlds apart. The small classes means that the lessons can be tailored to what the specific dogs/humans need, rather than following a strict plan. Tatiana's ability to adapt challenges dependant on each breed, proves a wealth of experience with dog behaviour not just generic instructions. On top of that the lessons are fun and something I look forward to each week. Thank you so much x

Laser the whippet has just had a month of morning walks with Becky and I’m not sure I can express how positive the experience was. Laser clearly had a great time and we received actions shots of him and his gang just about every day, which was great! Becky was really responsive and made sure to reassure us before and during walks as well as send those photos, whilst Rowena, too, was quick and helpful. Cannot recommend enough, thanks to you both and hope to see you again soon!

I don’t think they make dog walkers better than Jess. My very small, quite attached (to me) dog could not have been in kinder, more patient & encouraging hands. Jess is gentle, attentive & playful with the dogs she looks after; mine went from very nervous & reluctant to join group walks, to being beside herself with excitement at the mention of the name ‘Jessica’, jumping in the car & happily greeting her new friends. I also love that this is a family business, well informed about the area they cover & connected to a network of people for whom dogs’ welfare, enrichment & safety is a priority. Thanks Jess, you’re the best.

We have used Headington All Paws regularly over the last seven months to look after our cat when we are away. Our cat is young, bright and engaging and needs interaction with humans. Headington All Paws understand this and meet all his needs, including the usual feeding, litter tray emptying etc. Headington All Paws have excellent communication, are utterly reliable and regularly update us about how our cat is doing while we are away, sending photos and videos. I would thoroughly recommend Headington All Paws to look after any pet, they are professional, reliable, kind and caring.

Emma and le Chien et moi have been a constant in our dog’s life for the best part of the last 5 years and as we are moving away from Oxford he and we will miss her and Joanne very much. Their love for the dogs they walk is abundantly clear and the service they provide is superb - dependable and always reliable. Couldn’t recommend them enough and thank them for all of the walks over the years!

I had a wonderful experience with the best dog walking company in Oxford. My dog, Olivia, is a rescue from Istanbul, and she can sometimes be nervous around other dogs. Emma and Joanne came to our home to meet Olivia before starting their service. After their first observation, they decided to accept her, and I couldn’t be happier about that choice. It was amazing to see Olivia socializing with other dogs, running in green fields, and learning how to be part of a pack. Unfortunately, we had to move to another city, and I really miss their service. Nowadays, it has been quite challenging to find a professional dog walker.

Emma and Joanne are fantastic and I recommend them highly. They are punctual, courteous, trustworthy, communicate clearly, and always send lots of photos and video updates from our dog's walk. They take the dogs to some beautiful places and our springer spaniel M. has really loved her walks with Emma and Joanne and the pack.

I found Darren to be fantastic for the first bit of training with my puppy. He really knows his breeds and the different ways in which they need handling and ensured that as owners we all learnt in the way that was right for our pups. We will be having a month break from classes to really practice what we’ve learnt so far before going back for the puppy advanced class. I can’t thank Darren enough for giving us such a brilliant start to our training journey. Vicky.

Professional Dog Trainers in Headington: Expert Canine Training Services

Finding qualified dog trainers in Headington requires understanding the unique needs of this historic Oxford suburb where academic heritage meets residential charm and expansive green spaces. From training energetic puppies in South Park to managing reactive dogs along the pathways near Churchill Hospital, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and socialisation programmes tailored to this distinctive area.

Serving all Headington neighbourhoods including Old Headington, New Headington, Barton, and Northway, we've successfully trained over 850 dogs in the past eight years. Our expertise addresses local challenges from navigating busy London Road to enjoying off-lead exercise in Bury Knowle Park and the wooded areas surrounding Shotover Country Park.

Why Choose Professional Dog Training in Headington

Headington presents distinctive training requirements shaped by its mix of residential streets, hospital complexes, and proximity to both Oxford city centre and open countryside. The area's excellent parks including South Park, Bury Knowle Park, and nearby Shotover Country Park provide outstanding training environments, though high dog density means proper socialisation and recall skills are essential for safe, enjoyable walks.

Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for Headington's specific environment, from desensitising them to ambulance sirens near the John Radcliffe Hospital to teaching calm behaviour around the numerous students cycling through Old Headington village. We understand the challenges of the steep hills throughout the area, busy bus routes along London Road, and the need for dogs who can confidently navigate both urban pavements and rural footpaths that characterise this unique Oxford suburb.

Comprehensive Dog Training Solutions for Headington Residents

Puppy Training and Early Development

Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Headington's varied environment including traffic along Windmill Road, the bustling atmosphere near Headington Shops, and different surfaces throughout local parks. Training covers house training, basic commands, and controlled socialisation at locations like Bury Knowle Park, building confident, well-adjusted dogs ready for suburban life.

Reactive Dog Behaviour Modification

Headington's popular walking routes often reveal reactivity issues that our systematic programmes address through positive reinforcement and desensitisation. We work extensively along South Park paths and quieter areas of Shotover, helping dogs develop calm responses to other canines and building tolerance that makes daily walks enjoyable rather than stressful for both dogs and owners.

Advanced Recall and Off-Lead Training

For dogs progressing beyond basics, we develop reliable off-lead control essential for safely enjoying Headington's larger open spaces. Training in Shotover Country Park and South Park challenges dogs with wildlife, other dogs, and varied terrain, ensuring dependable recall whether near C.S. Lewis Nature Reserve or the open fields beyond Old Headington, giving owners complete confidence during exercise sessions.
