Very friendly and run very well.
I have had such a good experience on the social walks Emma organises that I felt compelled to leave a review. Emma is so lovely and calm and creates such a non-judgemental and supportive environment for everybody and she's wonderful with the dogs. I would really recommend.
Our 1st time visiting Emma and her training group for a dog workshop on her working farm. The location was beautiful in the open countryside and me and my 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Emma has so much patience, explain things really clearly, is very calm, has plenty of advice and is a very positive trainer. We'll definitely be back for more fun!
I recently took park in Emma's beginner barn hunt workshop with my Airedale Terrier. He loved it and we had a great time. Fab facilities and Emma was great to work with.

We found Rich as we wanted to start some basic gun dog training with our puppy we had few 1-1 sessions and didn’t hesitate to join his beginner gun dog course. He is great with dogs, really knowledgeable and great to work with. You don’t feel any pressure he is really down to earth. The course was well structured and we really took a lot out of it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rich if you are looking for any type of dog training.
We worked with Rich for 10 weeks, completing the Beginner Pet Gundog Course with our stubborn and excitable 12 month old Golden Retriever! Rich has been brilliant, and has helped us improve our dog’s behaviour and focus immensely- we can’t thank Rich enough for his hard work and dedication to him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!
Recently attended the Beginners Pet Gundog course - Rich is absolutely brilliant, fantastic with dogs & people. Both my puppy and I got a huge amount out of the course. Very highly recommended!
We first got in touch with Rich wanting some baaic obedience advice for our super bouncy golden retriever puppy. After some 1:1 sessions it was clear we had found the correct person to help us. He took time to listen and address our individual concerns and guided us through. His positive attitude that consistent training pays off has made an amazing difference in our dog’s behaviour. Rich really makes the effort to get to know your dog as an individual, and that has made our training so much easier. We have just completed the beginner pet gundog course, something we never thought would be possible! We would highly recommend Rich for all your dog training needs.
We’ve just completed the beginners gundog course with Rich and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Rich is a knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging trainer who really understands dogs and how to bring out their best. From day one, it was clear that his passion for dogs and deep understanding of gundog training went far beyond basic obedience. He takes the time to understand each dog’s temperament and needs, and the results speak for themselves. I especially appreciated the consistent feedback and ongoing support. Whether you’re training a pup from scratch or refining advanced skills, I highly recommend Country Handlers. This has been a game-changer for both me and my dog. Looking forward to starting the next level!

Great trainer and lots of fun. My nervous mini dax always looks forward to going and has come on so much since joining. He never usually likes being around strangers but he'll take a treat off Alison!
Professional, patient and informative teaching. Ali takes time and care with every client in the session and it's a lot of fun! Clear and concise instructions with set goals to work toward as a dog and human team together. Highly recommend!
Invaluable one to one training, tailored to me as a new dog owner and my dog’s own ways. Thanks Ali.

Gaspar and I had our first training session with Lisa the other day and it was a real eye-opener. We started with the basics of lead walking and switched from using a harness, which I’d always used as I believed it was safer, to a collar and the difference was amazing! Lisa taught me how to walk Gaspar correctly, and it was just brilliant. We worked better as a team, Gaspar was more engaged with me, and the whole walk was so much more enjoyable. We did some recall work too, as I’m always anxious about letting him off-lead, and I learned so much. I have things to practise with Gaspar, and I’m looking forward to our next lesson!
Can’t recommend Kai enough, professional service with a down to earth approach My boxer Ronnie is a completely different dog Highly recommend.
Kai from Kai’s K9 School helped me massively on introducing my new dog to my mum’s dog. My mum’s dog was very set in his ways as an older boy and struggled with reactivity. I was really concerned that he’d struggle with my new dog and that it would cause stress for all of us. Kai gave me the perfect method in helping them by first encouraging outdoor meeting and then building up bonds before integrating into my home. I now have two happy dogs that enjoy each others company. I can’t thank Kai enough and if you’re needing a dog trainer I 100% recommend Kai’s K9 School. He genuinely cares about the dogs and the families that he takes on board and seeing his work first hand is incredible. Thank you Kai, Winnie and Bear appreciate you, as do we 🐾 💖

Bath City Centre presents unique training requirements shaped by its UNESCO World Heritage status, tourist footfall, and compact historic streets. The city's cobbled lanes, busy shopping areas around Southgate, and popular riverside walks demand dogs with excellent lead manners and calm temperaments. With approximately 15 million tourists visiting annually, Bath dogs encounter constant foot traffic, outdoor dining areas, and diverse crowds that require proper socialisation and controlled responses.
Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for Bath's specific environment, including desensitisation to street performers near the Roman Baths, confidence around cyclists on the Two Tunnels Greenway, and appropriate behaviour in the city's numerous cafés and boutiques that welcome dogs. We understand local requirements for dogs accessing Bath's parks including Royal Victoria Park, Alice Park, and the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, ensuring your companion becomes a well-mannered city resident.
Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week period, systematically exposing young dogs to Bath's urban soundscape including church bells, buskers, and traffic along Manvers Street. Training covers house training for Georgian flats, basic commands, and controlled socialisation in Royal Victoria Park, building confident dogs comfortable with Bath's bustling atmosphere.
Bath's narrow pavements and popular walking routes can trigger or worsen reactivity. Our behaviour modification programmes address leash reactivity, fear-based responses, and barrier frustration using positive reinforcement techniques. Progressive training along quieter routes near Sydney Gardens builds tolerance before introducing busier areas like Pulteney Weir.
We specialise in training dogs for Bath's dog-friendly culture, teaching calm behaviour in cafés, settling quietly during shopping trips, and navigating crowds at Bath Farmers Market. Dogs learn appropriate responses to tourists, confidence on historic cobblestones, and polite greetings with other dogs along popular routes.

Yes, dogs can be trained to remain calm in Bath's crowded areas through systematic desensitisation and positive reinforcement.
