We have been bringing our 3 year old vizsla Otis to agility for around 8 months. Gemma and Pam are amazing trainers who are extremely knowledgable in what they do and encourage us to get to the next step. We even were able to enter our first steeplechase last year! The facilities are excellent and if the weather isn’t so good we are able to work on equipment such as the weaves and the A-frame indoors. Simply animals are very welcoming, friendly and really push our dogs to do their best!

Gemma and Ryan are amazing. They walk my dog twice a week and she loves her time with them. I also attended puppy training classes when my dog was small and they really helped with her behaviour. Recently I was desperate for help when a relative passed away and we had to travel to Norfork for the funeral. My dog has never stayed away from home overnight but Gemma and Ryan stepped in and looked after her at very short notice. They are amazing and genuinely care about the best interests of the dog.

Our dog has been attending doggy day care at SA since she was 3 months old, she loves it and for us it’s the best day of the week as she’s socialising with other dogs and burning off some energy!

Jane understands the dog and moreover she helps the owner to understand how to get the best out of their dog. Jane helped me train, love and accept my rescue pointer to the point that I can enjoy walks off the lead with him. She helped me notice my dog's inborn qualities and turn them to work in my favour so we can now enjoy each orhers company outdoor and indoor. I only wish I found her earlier. Jane is very clear and instructive in how she trains, she treats dogs with empathy and she really understand them. Her relationship with dogs seems to be special, like with a human friend. She just seems to know what they need, and interprets this back to the owner :). Thank you Jane xx

Now this is long overdue! I do apologise! Andi is absolutely superb with training, behaviour, on the spot advice, reliability, punctuality she will not let you or your dog down. We have a Giant schnauzer who actually is giant even at 8 months old he loves Andi!!! We have been attending puppy class since he was 11wks and moved up to the overs after 6mnths! I am so grateful to have found K9 BOOT CAMP, we go every week and would go twice if we could. Andi has a no nonsense approach, she's extremely encouraging to us and the dog and seems to have a solution to every canine eventuality, good bad or indifferent thankfully!! anyone who's owned a Giant will understand! I can not recommend her enough to be fair! All her equipment, leads collars, toys, snacks (natural)are available to buy from her also, she actually is the one stop dog shop! And dog whisperer!! Really appreciate every single lesson we have had together,we still learn every week. I actually feel we have a great understanding and relationship with our canine friend because of Andi and Blue and Tucker!! A great big Thank you!!

We have two German Shepards, one dog who is 2 years old and has hip displeasure and our puppy girl. We also had a little terrier who was 16 years old, but has gone over the rainbow bridge. When we lost the terrier, we had not realised how close the dogs were and our GSD puppy became very reactive. We did get a dog behaviourist who was recommended by our dog trainer. She came to the house, did not look at the dogs and spent about 60 min of telling us how bad things were, she told us the muzzle train her and get the vet to put her on tramadol. She did not contact us again, so when we chased her up, she told us Erin was not the dog for us and we should either rehome her or have her put down. We asked if she could rehome her as she worked with a dog trust, but she refused to help. Luckily when we were ordering some coal from Rochdale the lady that was taking the order got chatting about dogs and told us about Andi. We contacted Andi almost straight away, and she spent longer on the phone talking through the problems than to other behaviourist spent in the house. As a result, we booked Erin in for a block of sessions with Andi. At the first session with Andi, Erin was barking like mad and pulling to get to her. We did a short walk and very quickly started to get Erin under control. WE fitted a slip lead and Andi trained me how to use it. By the end of the first session, Erin has gone from improvement to improvement. We have had follow up sessions with the two dogs together and that is going well, we are now able to walk to two dogs at the same time. (one dog each). Erin has improved so much that we had the grandchildren visit and both were able to sit with Erin and she would let them stroke her as she lay next to them. I can not thank Andi enough for saving our little Erin

We got in touch with Andi, to help us with our new rescue German shepherd, Max. We chose the home visits as we wanted to see Max in his home environment and surrounding areas where we walk Our main aim was being able to walk him without being dragged over the hills, never to be seen again and Andi gave us the tips and appropriate lead/collar to be able to do that. She is knowledgeable, patient, professional and quick to answer any questions or queries, and clearly loves helping train people like me, because let's be honest, it's the humans, not the dogs who need it. Once you know the key to unlock your dog's potential, and you understand why they do what they do, it makes living and walking so much more enjoyable and harmonious. Would highly highly recommend Andi and K9 bootcamp.

Professional Dog Trainers in Rochdale: Expert Canine Training Services

Finding qualified dog trainers in Rochdale means connecting with professionals who understand the unique needs of Greater Manchester's dog owners. From training puppies in the residential areas near Rochdale Town Hall to managing reactive dogs along the Rochdale Canal towpath, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes designed for local conditions.

Serving all areas including Rochdale town centre, Middleton, Heywood, Littleborough, and Milnrow, we've successfully trained over 2,800 dogs across the borough in the past decade. Our expertise addresses the unique challenges of dog ownership in this diverse area, from navigating busy Yorkshire Street to enjoying off-lead exercise in Hollingworth Lake and Healey Dell Nature Reserve.

Why Choose Professional Dog Training in Rochdale

Rochdale presents distinct training requirements shaped by its blend of urban areas, Pennine hillsides, and canal-side walks. The borough's excellent green spaces including Broadfield Park, Springfield Park, and Alkrington Woods provide superb training environments, but also mean dogs encounter numerous other canines daily, making proper socialisation and recall training essential. Our trainers specialise in desensitising dogs to urban stimuli including trams at Rochdale Railway Station, market days in the town centre, and the varied terrain from flat canal paths to steep moorland walks that characterise local exercise routes.

Our Dog Training Coverage Across Rochdale Borough

We provide comprehensive dog training services throughout Rochdale, covering all OL11, OL12, OL15, OL16, and M24 postcode areas. Our trainers regularly work near key locations including Touchstones Rochdale cultural centre, Hopwood Hall College, Hollingworth Lake Country Park, and the historic Rochdale Town Hall. We serve communities from Wardle in the north to Castleton in the south, throughout residential areas in Norden and across neighbourhoods near Kirkholt and Sudden, with initial assessments typically scheduled within 24-48 hours of contact.

Tailored Dog Training Solutions for Rochdale Residents

Puppy Foundation Training

Our puppy programmes focus on building solid foundations during the crucial 8-16 week period. We introduce young dogs to Rochdale's environment systematically, including exposure to the Metrolink tram system, canal boat traffic, and the varied weather conditions typical of the Pennine foothills. Training covers house training, crate training, bite inhibition, and essential commands, with socialisation sessions in local parks helping puppies develop confidence.

Reactive Dog Behaviour Modification

Popular walking routes along the Rochdale Canal and through Healey Dell often reveal reactivity issues. Our programmes address leash reactivity, fear-based responses, and resource guarding using positive reinforcement techniques. Progressive training in controlled environments builds tolerance gradually, replacing unwanted behaviours with calm focus even in busy areas.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Training in Rochdale

How much does dog training cost in Rochdale?

Dog training in Rochdale typically ranges from £35-65 per hour for private sessions. Multi-session packages offer better value at £240-450 for 6-8 week programmes, while group classes cost £10-18 per session. Puppy courses spanning six weeks average £120-240, reflecting the area's competitive pricing compared to larger cities.

What age should I start training my puppy in Rochdale?

Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home, usually around 8 weeks old. The critical socialisation window between 8-16 weeks makes early exposure to Rochdale's environment essential. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations at approximately 10-12 weeks, though dogs of any age benefit from professional training.

Can my dog be trained for Rochdale's varied terrain?

Yes, we specialise in training dogs for Rochdale's unique landscape, from flat canal towpaths to steep Pennine hillsides. Training includes building stamina, teaching reliable recall in open moorland areas like around Hollingworth Lake, and developing appropriate behaviour around livestock on rural footpaths. Most dogs adapt well within 6-10 weeks of consistent training.
