I can not express how good a trainer Scott is, he is a calm influance in all situations. He has a vast understanding of how dogs work and a very experienced skill mix in dealing with all kinds of dogs, moreover he is sympathetic to the humans that need the training too. I would recommend scott to everyone.

We cannot recommend this highly enough. Scott is exceptional and has a wealth of expertise. Our 7 month old puppy Toby, has come on so much. We had a couple of one to one sessions followed by a basic course of four group classes and frankly you would not believe the change from class one to class four for all the dogs (and owners).

Scott has helped both me and Frankie so much. Even in a few short weeks of one-2-one sessions I've seen a huge improvement in his reactivity when he's on-lead. He's a much happier boy and gaining confidence. Thank you Scott, for helping us and I look forward to the group sessions and continuing his improvement.

Scott was very professional and patient with Patrick. After training Patrick is much more manageable in his walks and is no longer distracted by other dogs and people when out walking. Still ongoing with recall training but has shown a massive improvement. All achieved in 4 x 1 hour one to one sessions. Would highly recommend Scott if you are looking for assistance in training your dog

Holly has helped us with our fur baby Rupert! She was amazing, and listened to our experiences with Rupert. Even after the first session where she observed his behaviour we found a huge improvement and had really helpful mechanisms which made a real difference to our lives. Rupert has come on leaps and bounds. We were nervous seeking help with him, but Holly had really helped! Holly is kind, knowledgeable, articulate and reliable. I can't thank Holly enough for her work with Dutch and myself, through a tailored program she has basically turned Dutch's life around. He was a reactive dog with lots of anxiety going on his walks, but after several months work he is now relaxed and enjoying going out. Whereas he was barking and confrontational with other dogs now he can't wait to meet other dogs and make friends. He's also playing off lead over the last month or so which I never would of dreamt of before his training started. When I met Holly I told her Dutch was a rescue and had a tough start in life and all I wanted was a happy dog and now he can't wait to go out and have fun in the world. I would recommend Holly to anyone, she is an absolutely fantastic behavioural specialist and I can't thank her enough.

After attending many of Holly’s classes over the years and also having some 1-2-1s, I can honestly say she is the best around. Full of knowledge and the support she has given me and my dogs over the years has been amazing. Her classes are very informative and give your puppies the best set up for tackling daily puppy life. I have also attended some workshops too, which have enhanced our training too. The support and encouragement received is just want you want from a trainer, making the challenges much easier to deal with. Holly is an all round lovely person and I would highly recommend her services.

The poochie people was recommended to us through social media, Nicola came round for a home visit to meet our 2 cats , this was our first time leaving them , Nicola was highly professional throughout the week with daily updates and a couple of pics , highly recommend.

I approached The Poochie People when I was having trouble on walks passing other dogs. Nicola came along with us on a walk so she could see my dogs behaviour exactly as it happened. She really listened to me and took in the whole picture to assess why he was acting the way he was. The tools she then gave me were invaluable to breaking the cycle of behaviour we had fallen into. I didn't feel pressured into booking regular sessions and was able to work on the new skills with Nicola kindly texting to check in on us. Dog training takes consistency, patience and time to work and we were well supported through this.

I approached Nic for help with my newly fearful dog. From the beginning she has been compassionate, kind, with all kinds of helpful ideas and support. She is knowledgeable and provides a clear plan of action, which is exactly what is needed when things are so stressful. I'm confident we're moving in the right direction thanks to her guidance.

We have used the Nicola and the Poochie People over 3 years and can’t recommend them highly enough! Nicola really cares for all the dogs and animals, and our beagle really looked forward to his walks. The organisation is great, with walks booked via an app. Communication has been excellent about any issues and good notice given for any holidays. Nicola has been really reliable and has really tried to cover things when there has been the occasional inevitable sickness. We also got some behavioural advice for a few issues, and it was really helpful given that she already knew our dog. We would recommend the Poochie People to anyone looking for a reliable dog walker, and are sad to be moving out of her patch.

Nicola has looked after Chester for over 2 years now and we’ve been delighted with the service she’s provided. She’s extremely knowledgeable on any dog related matter we’ve approached her with, caring and reliable. A nurturing and attentive place to make lovely puppies brilliant canine companions. The team at York City Dog Training Club we're absolutely superb in support us with Belle's training. It was clear from day 1 Belle was going to be a super energetic puppy to help focus but the team were so helpful and patient with our journey. The team are so generous with their time and efforts to help dogs and their owners. We were assigned the delightful Lucy who coached us to manage Belle's bundles of energy whilst the head trainer gave us weeks of useful lessons on what to do and what not to do during our puppy's first months of life. Cannot thank the team enough and hoping to enroll Belle into level 1 when the space next becomes available.

Having done two of YCDT’s courses now I can highly recommend them as an organisation. Instructors are excellent, we achieved a huge amount and my dog adored her weekly sessions!

Sid and I attended the puppy class which we thoroughly enjoyed, Louise and all her helpers were lovely nothing was too much trouble, everyone was friendly, can highly recommend.

Louise is an excellent trainer, and the other ladies we're so friendly and helpful too. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and gained many tips, which will hopefully help me with Betsy in the future.

An excellent starter course for dog training; my son and I completed the puppy course and really enjoyed the activities and the way the skills were built up gradually in an interesting way, with revision practice as well to reinforce. Thoroughly recommended! Thank you to Louise and her helpers.
