Had my first session with Forrest who worked with my 9 month old Doberdor. She engaged with him and I saw his leash walking progress there and then. Forrest gave me the tools that I needed to understand the way my dog thinks and I continued with her advice and techniques. Just two days after our session I was able to take my dog for a walk with him walking beside me without the need for his harness. I highly recommend Forrest!
Forrest came out to work with us and our 10-month-old puppy, Doug, who we’d been having a few challenges with. She took the time to discuss Doug’s behaviour and listen to my concerns. Throughout the session, Doug was completely engaged and seemed to have really clicked with Forrest. You can tell Forrest has extensive knowledge and her clear explanations made it easy for me to understand what to do. She took the time to answer any questions. Thank you so much Forrest for your guidance and advice! :)
Absolutely Brilliant, really knowledge, friendly and helpful Thanks again see you soon
Forrest is amazing with the help and support she has given in the first session. Given us something to work on before booking another session Thank you
Forrest visited our home and met Solomon our 9 month old Gerberian Shepsky. We asked for help with his nipping/mouthing/lead biting and various other things. Forrest listened and asked lots of questions about Solomon She really understood him and how to get the best out of our pup. We've been shown games to play to reduce the unwanted behaviour and so far so good. Forrest is coming for a walk with us next time to work on things like lunging and pulling. I know she'll have great advice and she'll be good company at the same time. She is a doggy genius!

Debbie is a fantastic, efficient and very professional dog trainer. She was very knowledgeable and gave lots of valuable support and advice for a novice puppy owner. 1-1 sessions were fun, friendly and COVID safe which were tailored to suit individual needs and capabilities. Communications via telephone, text and email were reliable and informative, providing videos to aid learning. Excellent service and one which I would thoroughly recommend. Brilliant thankyou Debbie!!!
I would highly recommend Debbie. She is so helpful and knowledgable and delivers her advice in such a calm, clear manner. Really helped my dog Bobbie, with his reactiveness. Thank you!
Debbie has been great helping my teenage daughter train her puppy, my daughter has enjoyed going to the classes and learning new skills to help to get her puppy to listen.
My Flossie has really benefited from her training, she has come a long way from her first lessons and now can't wait for the next lesson
Debbie's training has had an amazing effect on our dogs, especially our adopted girl from Turkey who had absolutely no lead skills at all when she arrived plus she had to earn English! I really did think 'what have I taken on!' Debbie has been so patient, never pushing her too far and just 'reading' her right each week, as such, 12 months in to rehoming her, after the initial 5 min excitement of being 'out out' she's calm & walks so beautifully on lead & is turning into the most beautiful dog. I couldn't have got to this point without Debbies help with both of the dogs and its great to see them progressing & loving life exactly as dogs should.

After researching dog training schools for our pup we were drawn to Scamps due to the emphasis on positive and ethical training. The pup class has taught us commands like sit, down, settling, manners and recall. Scott teaches in a way that breaks the theory down so you understand how and why, training is in steps so you are able to progress stage by stage whilst your dog is happy and eager to learn due to the positive approach to training. A first aid session is also part of the course which we hope we never need but at least we are now prepared. You can tell Scott and Jo love dogs and are passionate about what they do. Special thanks to Jo for the support with Pippin during the sessions and to Scott for his help outside of the classes to help us with some of our pups behaviours. See you on the Bronze course
Wow, we learnt so much on this course. Jo and Scott are great instructors. Thank you so much, looking forward to the Bronze course.
Really does work ,Think outside the box when it comes to dog training . Positive training ,reward, reward and your dog will be the best ,You will also be the best.
We have done Scamps Bronze, Silver and Gold courses with our Springer/Poodle cross. We now have a happy dog who is a pleasure to have around. Scotts teaching is both easy to follow and effective with support to ensure everyone can be successful. I can't recommend Scott and Jo highly enough.
The most amazing trainer I could have ever imagined for my very excitable (and noisy) Staffy puppy. Scott and Jo were both absolutely incredible during the 6 week puppy class and they always made me feel so comfortable with their kind words, guidance and support. The class focused on recall, basic commands, first aid (which was so informative), settling and much much more! It has been the best decision I have made regarding my pup. Scott always goes the extra mile and also gave me advice and methods outside of the classes to help support my pup with his anxiety with walking - to which have worked a treat. ALL training methods are positive for the dog which has really build up confidence with Reggie. NO CRUELTY / NEGATIVE REINFORCEMENT!!! Always putting the dogs needs and their safety first. Another huge thank you for everything you have done for Reggie, hope to see you both soon for a Bronze Course!

The physical space is very impressive & reflects the needs of the dogs, with play areas, quiet areas & stimulative toys - it’s all fully secure & hi tech; complimented by the wonderful Megan, who’s got a spacious converted barn grooming salon. Our Giant Schnauzer goes once a week & absolutely loves his day-he jumps out of the car and although usually a mummy’s boy-once he sees Stuart or Luke coming to greet us, he doesn’t even look back! That tells me how much he enjoys his time. K9 affords the stimulation & socialisation I can’t provide at home & both Sherlock & I look forward to his regular play day!! Highly recommended for all shapes, ages & sizes of dogs-professional & knowledgeable staff can advise on food nutrition & grooming needs. The onsite shop has raw food, healthy treats travelling boxes.
My dogs have the best time on their once a week day care at Weston. Our dogs are treated with so much respect and care by all at K9 Weston. 5⭐️ recommendation from us
My dog has been going to K9 anytime at Higford for 6 years now, and they’ve always been great, and I’ve recently moved her to the new premises at Weston for convenience, and it is fantastic. Luke & Stewart are running the new site and they’re amazing with the dogs - nothing speaks louder than the fact that my dog is really happy to go off with them when I drop her off. The newly built premises are excellent and it’s a great location if you’re travelling on the M6 or M6 Toll every day. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
My dog Marley absolutely loves going to K9 at Weston. It has lovely clean facilities and is very well run. He is always very excited to go in there and drags Stewart to the gate to get in and similarly a very happy dog when I pick him up. I was lucky to have a tour of the new facilities and was very impressed with the care they have taken in looking after our dogs needs through the day.. Apart from being a place for them to be whilst you are working, it is perfect for teaching them manners and how to understand other dogs. They thoroughly enjoy it. I would 100% recommend K9 day care centre with Stewart and his team. They really do care and love dogs.

Finding qualified dog trainers in Perton means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this residential village on the Staffordshire-Shropshire border. From training puppies in the quiet cul-de-sacs near Perton Brook to managing recall in the expansive Wightwick Manor grounds, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes designed for village life.
Serving all areas including Perton Village Centre, The Parkway, and surrounding communities in WV6, we've successfully trained over 850 dogs in the local area. Our expertise addresses the specific needs of Perton dog owners, from navigating the popular walking routes around Perton Park to ensuring excellent behaviour in the village's family-friendly environment.
Perton's residential character, with its established estates, green spaces, and strong community atmosphere, creates specific training requirements. The village's network of footpaths, proximity to countryside walks, and popular local spots like Perton Library and Community Centre mean dogs regularly encounter other canines, children, and cyclists, making proper socialisation and recall training essential.
Our trainers understand the local environment, from the busy school run times around Perton Primary Academy to the weekend activity at Perton Civic Centre. We prepare dogs for village life, ensuring they can walk calmly past neighbours' gardens, behave appropriately in shared green spaces, and enjoy off-lead exercise in nearby areas like the South Staffordshire Railway Walk without causing concern.
Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Perton's residential environment including traffic noise, doorbell sounds, garden boundaries, and neighbourhood activity. Training covers house training, crate training for modern homes, basic commands, and controlled socialisation that prevents future behavioural issues, creating confident village dogs.
With excellent countryside access nearby, reliable recall proves essential for Perton dog owners. We develop bombproof recall despite distractions including wildlife, other dogs, and walkers, ensuring your dog responds reliably whether on local footpaths or exploring the surrounding Staffordshire countryside. This training provides freedom and exercise while maintaining complete control.
Our behaviour modification programmes address leash reactivity on village pavements, barrier frustration at garden boundaries, and anxiety around unfamiliar dogs or people. Using positive reinforcement and systematic desensitisation, we help dogs develop calm responses to everyday triggers encountered throughout Perton's residential streets and communal spaces.
Dog training in Perton typically ranges from £35-65 per hour for private sessions, with package deals offering better value at £240-450 for 6-8 week programmes. Group classes cost £10-18 per session, while comprehensive puppy courses average £130-240. Local trainers often provide free initial consultations and mobile services throughout WV6 postcodes.
Perton offers several excellent training locations including quiet residential streets during off-peak hours, the green spaces around Perton Park, and nearby countryside footpaths. The South Staffordshire Railway Walk provides ideal distraction training opportunities, while quieter times at local recreation areas allow focused training sessions away from peak dog-walking periods.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old, as early experiences shape lifelong behaviour. The critical 8-16 week socialisation window makes early exposure to Perton's village environment essential. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations at 10-12 weeks, though dogs of any age benefit from professional training.
Professional dog training in Perton creates well-mannered companions suited to village life and the surrounding countryside. Our proven methods combine expert techniques with local knowledge, ensuring your dog thrives in this community-focused environment. Whether you're in a family home near The Parkway or close to Perton Village Centre, investing in professional training ensures your dog becomes a valued member of both your family and the wider Perton community.
