The perfect puppy course was a brilliant way to start off our puppy training. Each week, we learnt new skills that we could then practice at home and it was great for socialisation too. We could really see the progress in our puppy, especially how he could concentrate more around other dogs and people as each week passed. Nicola is really friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. We were so happy with the course that we booked the adolescent one too.
Poppy has seen massive improvements in her behaviour and lead work. Nicola was really helpful and informative and made teaching Poppy less stressful. I would 100% recommend any of the training classes available 😁
We have had support from Puppy Nanny with puppy training when we first got our cockapoo (Molly) - everything that was advised was spot on. We have also had Puppy Nanny helping with day care - checking in on our puppy at points throughout the day at our house when we’re not at home. We’re always sent updates on how our puppy has been and what she has been up to during that hour. Molly loves spending time with Puppy Nanny & will run to the front door if she hears her voice on a video. Professional, very responsive, knowledgeable with puppies - 5 stars+++
Fantastic course and introduction to the world of puppy training. Clear concise instruction with ample time for practise, feedback and follow-up questions. Regular homework with supporting information online and the perfect opportunity for my puppy to make new friends and progress socially.
We’ve just finished some one-to-one training sessions with Nicola to help our dog with his separation anxiety. Before the sessions we couldn’t leave our dog for more than a minute without him barking and getting stressed, but by the end of the course we can comfortably leave him settled on the sofa knowing he’s relaxed and chilled. Would recommend Nicola to anyone looking for help and guidance with their dog :)

Having completed the bonze and silver sniffer dog training courses with Gareth we have learned so much. Dizzy the dog has enjoyed them so much learned loads of new skills which we use on walks and around the house and garden. She has grown in confidence and is a much calmer dog as a result. The skills can be used in all sorts of different ways. If you’re someone who enjoys training your dog I can highly recommend Gareth. We will be continuing to do different courses with him as we have both learned a lot and had fun
Just completed the Silver level of scent work and cannot recommend scent work training enough it has changed Robyn for the better in many ways. Our walks are much calmer as she likes to sniff more where before she would pull constantly, when we do things she is so much more focused on me and is alot more responsive to my commands now and she enjoys what she does as soon as we get to Gareth's her little face lights up as she sees it as play time even tho she's working very hard. Gareth has a great approach to the training, he's relaxed, let's the dogs have fun and gives great advice and feedback 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Did puppy classes with Gareth, he was so good at understanding both dogs and owners and made the classes fun and easy to understand what was needed for us to do, I'll prob be going back for any 'high school' classes later in the year but for now my pup is doing really well I'll continue to work hard with the knowledge I've gained
Great classes with even better trainers. Gareth really knows his stuff and is beyond willing to help with any questions or tips. Would highly recommend these classes for anyone wanting to learn the right things for their puppies. It’s been I valuable for us as well as our puppy. Couldn’t recommend enough.
Garath is insightful, patient and is very good at reading my dogs body language. He works using gold standard, positive reenforcement training methods, which he explains in an easy to understand way and follows this up with a practical demonstration. I would not hesitate to recommend

On arrival was greeted as if we have been friends for ever.
We have been bringing our 3 year old vizsla Otis to agility for around 8 months. Gemma and Pam are amazing trainers who are extremely knowledgable in what they do and encourage us to get to the next step. We even were able to enter our first steeplechase last year! The facilities are excellent and if the weather isn’t so good we are able to work on equipment such as the weaves and the A-frame indoors. Simply animals are very welcoming, friendly and really push our dogs to do their best!
Gemma and Ryan are amazing. They walk my dog twice a week and she loves her time with them. I also attended puppy training classes when my dog was small and they really helped with her behaviour. Recently I was desperate for help when a relative passed away and we had to travel to Norfork for the funeral. My dog has never stayed away from home overnight but Gemma and Ryan stepped in and looked after her at very short notice. They are amazing and genuinely care about the best interests of the dog.
Great dog training facility, in glorious surroundings, with lovely people.
Our dog has been attending doggy day care at SA since she was 3 months old, she loves it and for us it’s the best day of the week as she’s socialising with other dogs and burning off some energy!

We've been working with Lucy for the past 6 months for our teenage golden retriever. We came to her as we needed help as our dog wouldn't let us put her harness on and would react to things like grooming and her general upkeep. She has helped us to not only solve these issues but also understand our dog's needs and emotions better. She has equipped us with the tools we need to identify potential issues we wouldn't have previously. Throughout our time working with her she has always been responsive and supportive when we have questions outside our sessions. Would definitely recommend her to anyone as she has helped us with things that we thought weren't possible.
We took ownership of Ted, a yellow labrador, approximately 18 months ago, aged 12 months. Although a lovely natured dog, whether due to his nature or his earlier life, or a combination of the two, Ted had a number of issues, that made life difficult for the family. We approached Lucy about a year ago and she used her experience and empathy to identify some minor health issues in Ted, which were contributing to some of his unwelcome behaviours. With great patience and expertise, Lucy has helped to transform Ted. He is good on the lead, instead of us being dragged by a 36kg tractor. He now comes well to call and behaves reasonably well in outside situations like eg cafes There are some minor issues which we are currently addressing, which are idiosyncratic to Ted. We have come such a long way in 12 months thanks to Lucy and her methods. Ted loves his lessons and adores Lucy. We tried other trainers but Lucy’s gentle approach has worked for Ted and for us. We annoy recommend Lucy highly enough
I just want to say that I’ve just started my journey with Lucy and my Border Collie and couldn’t more happy that it is with Lucy! She’s so knowledgeable and has already helped massively, especially with my worry that you ‘can’t teach on old dog new tricks’ but you definitely can with Lucy. I have every faith in Lucy’s experience and knowledge, plus she’s a fun person too xx
Set amongst glorious countryside
Lucy knows dogs and is amazing. Her insight and knowledge is limitless, even down to diagnosing a hip problem that the vet hadn’t noticed!! Blue and I have been working with Lucy just over 12 months and it’s been wonderful. The field sessions are in an amazing setting, it’s a great day out when we go. Blue was reactive to most dogs in the beginning, having been attacked. He has a wonderful sweet nature normally and I thought it had gone entirely until i met Lucy. She’s wonderful and I highly recommend her 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Incredible Dog Trainer – Highly Recommend Brian at The K9 Coach! We started working with Brian when our Cavapoo puppy, Indie, was just 3 months old. At the same time, we were also at different times caring for Luna, a 4-year-old French Bulldog who had become reactive toward other dogs — so much so that we couldn’t have her and Indie in the same space without fear of Luna biting. From the very first session, Brian worked absolute magic. Indie was eating out of the palm of his hand and picked up new commands immediately — including the crucial “touch” command that became a game-changer for recall. Brian didn’t just work wonders with Indie; he also gave Luna the same level of engagement and attention. It turns out, an old dog can learn new tricks! Eventually, we brought them together for a joint session. We followed every bit of advice Brian gave us — and within just six walks together, we had the confidence to let them both off-leash. They played happily together, and just a couple of walks later, we even had them calmly sharing the same house. This was progress I honestly thought we’d never see. What sets Brian apart is not just his skill and experience, but his passion and genuine love for dogs. He’s always been available for a quick call between sessions and has supported us every step of the way. He truly is the ultimate dog whisperer. If you’re considering training — no matter your dog’s age or challenges — don’t hesitate to reach out to Brian at The K9 Coach. It’s never too late to train, and with Brian, you’re in the best hands.
I can’t say enough great things about Brian and the incredible work he’ve done with Milo. From the very first session, it was clear that this isn’t just a job for him -it’s a true calling. Brian combines deep expertise with patience, empathy, and a genuine love for animals. He took the time to understand not just my dog’s behavior, but also their personality and emotional needs. The difference in my dog’s confidence, obedience, and overall happiness is nothing short of remarkable. Whether it was leash training, recall or just building a better bond between me and my dog, Brian provided personalized, actionable guidance that worked wonders. What impressed me most was the focus on positive reinforcement and the emphasis on building trust and communication. Highly recommend to anyone who wants not just a well-trained dog, but a happier and healthier relationship with their furry best friend!
We got in touch with Brian to help us with our shihtzu Ruby’s behaviour. Despite having Ruby since a puppy, over time she had become aggressive towards men, was very difficult to settle when someone would come into our home and was very reactive whilst on a lead with other dogs and her recall was pretty terrible! There was a lot that we wanted Brian to help us with and he absolutely succeeded. It’s been a complete game changer for Ruby’s walks and helping us to understand why Ruby had displayed this aggressive behaviour towards other dogs and people. We never thought we would get to a point of being able to comfortably walk her around other dogs again. Brian is so patient, understanding and clearly very passionate. He really has been a miracle worker. Particularly as we have a young daughter, we were really wanting to work on Ruby’s behaviour and Brian has really helped us to unpick exactly why Ruby would act the way she did. Brian has excellent people (and dog!) skills, is kind and caring. Ruby warmed to him instantly, which just proves his kind nature. If you are looking for a dog trainer to help you with similar concerns, then I wouldn’t think twice about booking with Brian. He was a wonderful.
I highy highly recommend Brian. He has provided the best possible guidance for me and my two little Chihuahua puppies. His training is all based on positive reinforcement, he is so kind and reassuring, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure you on the right track for helping you and your puppy to learn and develop in the best way possible together. To have that support system in place and the understanding of why my dogs might be behaving in a certain way, means that I can give them the best opportunity to become confident, happy little dogs. Having the support of Brian is so reassuring, I honestly don't think I could have done this so successfully and easily without him. You are truly blessed to have found him! 🐶🐶
Brian was a fantastic help with our dog Truffle. Truffle is a mix of 3 working breeds and we were struggling with him pulling on the lead because of how keen he was to sniff everything! Brian taught us how to channel Truffle’s working energy and tendencies so that we were helping him to enrich and stimulate his brain, whilst also being able to now enjoy walks! Thank you Brian!!
Finding qualified dog trainers in Tameside means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this Greater Manchester borough, where urban towns meet stunning Pennine moorland. From puppy socialisation in Stamford Park to recall training across Hartshead Pike, our certified trainers deliver expert obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy classes tailored to local life.
Serving all areas including Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley, and Denton, we've successfully trained over 2,800 dogs across Tameside in the past decade. Our expertise addresses the challenges of dog ownership throughout this diverse borough, from navigating busy market towns to enjoying off-lead freedom on the Pennine trails.
Tameside's unique blend of urban centres and countryside access creates specific training needs. The borough's excellent parks including Stamford Park, Park Bridge, and Werneth Low Country Park provide fantastic training environments but require dogs with solid recall and social skills. The proximity to Peak District moorland means many Tameside dogs need confidence around livestock, challenging terrain, and wildlife.
Our trainers understand local challenges including adapting dogs to terraced housing common throughout Ashton and Stalybridge, managing reactivity on the busy Transpennine Trail, and preparing dogs for the weather variations that come with the borough's elevated Pennine location. Whether navigating Ashton Market crowds or exploring quieter canal towpaths, we ensure your dog thrives in Tameside's diverse environments.
Our puppy programmes build essential foundations during the critical 8-16 week socialisation period. We expose young dogs to Tameside's specific environment including tram sounds, market day bustle, canal-side activity, and the varied terrain from town centres to moorland edges. Training covers house training, crate training, basic commands, and controlled socialisation in parks like Ryecroft Hall Farm, creating confident, adaptable dogs ready for borough life.
Tameside's popular walking routes often reveal reactivity challenges. Our programmes address leash reactivity on narrow canal towpaths, fear-based responses, and barrier frustration common in terraced properties. Using positive reinforcement in locations like Daisy Nook Country Park, we systematically build tolerance and teach calm behaviour even amid the distractions of busy Tameside streets and trails.
For dogs ready to explore Tameside's countryside access, our advanced training develops reliable off-lead control. We build bombproof recall despite moorland wildlife, other dogs, and sheep on hillsides around Hartshead Pike and Werneth Low. This training gives owners confidence to safely enjoy the borough's stunning outdoor spaces while maintaining complete control.
Dog training in Tameside typically costs £35-65 per hour for private sessions, with 6-8 week packages ranging from £240-450. Group classes cost £10-18 per session, while puppy courses average £120-220. Behaviour consultations for complex issues range from £50-85, with Tameside's pricing generally more affordable than Manchester city centre while maintaining professional standards.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old. The critical 8-16 week socialisation window requires early exposure to Tameside's environment including town centres, parks, and countryside. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations at 10-12 weeks. Adult and rescue dogs benefit from training at any age, particularly in Tameside's stimulating mixed environment.
Absolutely. Training for countryside access focuses on reliable recall, livestock awareness, and trail etiquette essential for areas like Werneth Low and access to Peak District edges. Most dogs require 6-10 sessions to develop the control needed for safe countryside walks. Training includes distraction work, emergency stops, and teaching appropriate behaviour around sheep and cattle commonly encountered on Tameside's moorland fringes.
Professional dog training in Tameside creates well-adjusted companions capable of enjoying everything this remarkable borough offers. Our evidence-based methods combine expert techniques with deep local knowledge, ensuring your dog thrives whether exploring Daisy Nook, walking Ashton's streets, or adventuring on Pennine trails.
