We visited Max Canine two days ago and it was really good to have a 1-2-1 with Emily to discuss the reactivity issues with our dog . This was our first visit to Max Canine and we were very impressed in the way Emily, with assistance from Mike, were able to offer excellent advice and tips on how to reduce the reactions from our dog especially when meeting other dogs and strangers. The peaceful and very scenic location of Max Canine was perfect for the 1-2-1, after which we participated in a group session with other dogs and their owners which was a great way of gaining some more tips on lead handling etc. We have already seen an improvement when out walking our dog and would certainly recommend Emily and Max Canine.
I was really struggling with Rosie’s behaviour and some difficult habits making life stressful! Emily listened and understood my needs and Rosie’s breed and how the issues could be improved. I can honestly say my life has changed for the better and I am so grateful to her. Rosie is a lot calmer in the house and the garden. I am looking forward to a face to face session next time. Em is the most brilliant trainer, and we are so thankful to have found her! We rescued our collie cross 2 years ago, and although myself and my partner had experience with the breed, neither of us were prepared for how complex Duke was. Duke was incredibly reactive to everything when we rescued him, and we were very naive and really had no clue how best to manage him. Em stripped it back to basics for us, and we started with learning how to get him to walk with us on lead, before progressing to being comfortable interacting with other dogs on/off lead, practising being around livestock and, Duke’s biggest trigger - cars. Her knowledge of canine behaviour is second to none, and she’s really helped us identify his signals so we can manage them before he goes, as we say, full “collie”. I think one of the biggest learnings for us wasn’t how to “fix” Duke, it was about educating ourselves and understanding the breed traits, and Duke’s behaviours in particular, so we could establish a better relationship and be the right leaders for him. Em is really straight forward, providing practical advice we can take away and build on, in safe and comfortable surroundings. We’ve been working with her for two years now, and I can honestly say it’s the best investment we’ve ever made. I feel much more confident in how to handle and work with Duke, and as a result have a much stronger bond with him. Would highly recommend!
We took our rehomed spaniel cross Monty as he was very distracted on the lead and has a very high prey drive. He quickly learnt what Emily was asking and I saw a big difference in his response. He is starting to walk better on the lead now and we are working on Sit means sit - slow process but each time it’s a bit longer - hopefully this will stop him diving for the front door each time it opens looking for squirrels . It’s still a work in progress but I feel I have learnt new skills from Emily to move in the right direction, and able to get back in touch with Emily should there be any further issues . Kim worked with us to help overcome our dog’s reactive behaviour. After spending a couple of hours together, I’m amazed by the progress in such a short amount of time. The time together wasn’t just educational, but it was fun too.

My large German Shepherd, Charlie, was started to think he was walking me rather than the other way round. Fraser took me through a few ideas and we're back to normal. Excellent service.
Recommend so highly. Fraser has been amazing since we got our dog. He has known him from 10 weeks old and has become almost like an extended part of the fam. So trust worthy and reliable and most of all our dog loves him. We feel really reassured and happy that we have found Fraser; knowing our little man is looked after. Thanks again!
I have a 3.5 year old crazy cocker spaniel (Max) who as you can imagine has a LOT of energy to burn! Fraser has been fab taking Max out on group walks and building his confidence. Max can be a little unsure of new people, men in particular, however as soon as he sees Fraser he's goes bonkers which reassures me he is having a good time! In addition to this, Max comes back tired, happy and relaxed. Couldn't recommend Fraser enough!!
Fraser had our little sausage dog and she had a lovely time! Very professional care from Fraser. Absolutely recommend!

Not only is my dog much more settled and confident after attending classes here. But my husband has also become more confident with our dog. Going for a walk is now a pleasure. In 5 short weeks my dog has improved every day and I can only say Thank You to the trainers here.
My 7th month old Shitzhu puppy Bertie has just finished the basic training and the intermediate training with Swinton Dog Training under the tutelage of Pat.....he loved both classes and he took to it like a duck to water...best thing I have done with him. Pat and Karen are totally professional and I would highly recommend puppy owners take these classes. Will be doing the advance class hopefully in the summer. Huge thank you ladies WE both had a great time x

I adopted a beautiful bouncy reactive rescue dog and needed help and advice to make both our lives better. Kirsty was patient, kind, non-judgemental and offered lots of great insight into what was happening in his doggy brain which helped me lots. We now have training and tactics to keep on with that will help him thrive. Very grateful for her help and support which has been totally worth it! ☺️
We had a brilliant 5 weeks with Kirsty. We were revisiting some of the basics with our 7 year old cocker spaniel. Charlie loved it too and we all found the sessions fun and encouraging. We feel set up now to continue improving and building up the fun and control, knowing too that Kirsty is only a message away for ongoing support.
Kirsty was excellent, really knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. The training we received had resulted in a much calmer and more well-behaved puppy overall. We did 1:1 sessions with our puppy and would happily recommend the service
Kirsty is very efficient, hard working and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. She is patient with owners and dogs. Never raises her voice and deals with all situations both calmly and efficiently. The training doesn’t stop after sessions. I know I can contact her at any time if things are not working out and she will advise me accordingly. I can’t thank her enough for all her help and patience with me and my lovely dog. I would not hesitate to contact her again if any other problems occurred.
Kirsty is amazing I can’t praise her enough. She came to my home and with my puppy and 3 other puppies from the same litter had basic training. She explains everything so clearly the puppies all responded to the training as did we. It gave us all the foundation to carry on and have lovely well behaved puppies. If you need any help training your dog I can’t recommend Kirsty enough.
