We recently had a really helpful and informative training session with Michaela to discuss how we could support our previously confident dog, who had begun showing episodes of fearfulness, and also dog-reactivity in very specific situations, since being neutered. Michaela was extremely knowledgeable, patient and, clearly, very experienced, taking the time to understand our dog’s history and current behaviour in detail. She offered practical, tailored strategies to help rebuild our dog’s confidence in a gentle and positive way. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone navigating similar challenges.
Michaela, has been great with my dog he is extremely excited to she her when its training days - She has figured out his driving force to enable he gets the best behavioural lessons required. The skills she has shown me have been working there is little to none pulling on the lead now after one training session, which has made me so much more happier and less frustrated when walking my dog. I will continue to use Michaela to train my dog.
Michaela bonded so well with Bruno, he was a star pupil. Very knowledgeable and she knew her stuff and all the information was valuable. Would definitely recommend!!
Well what can I say Michaela is truly amazing❤️ We originally contacted Michaela when we adopted a Havanese puppy Harley who came with lots of issues 😞 In 8 weeks he is a different boy altogether we now have training walks provided by Michaela which he loves. Also now have Training walks for Harleys sister 3 year old Jack Russell Izzy. Now when Michaela comes to the door they are so excited and the one left indoor while other is out sulks until Michaela comes back and it’s their turn 😂 Can not recommend Michaela enough definitely 5 star
Michaela was absolutely great with my sausage dog Arlo she understood exactly what was going on and gave me great advice and tips on how to manage his behaviour. Thank you Michaela for all your help x

The team at Wags has always been incredible with our Ziggy, and their extra care after his surgery just confirms how much they truly love what they do. They treat every dog like family—safe, happy, and totally spoiled. Ziggy gets so excited to go, we’re pretty sure he'd rather stay there than come home, every time… we’re just his humans getting left behind! 😅 Huge thanks to Vanessa, Richard, Gabby and the rest of the amazing team for everything you do to keep my furbaby safe and happy.
Freya absolutely loves when she gets to go to Wags & Scruffs. We've used their daycare regularly since she was a tiny pup and she's also boarded with them a few times when we've had holidays (and at short notice when our baby came a tad early!) I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone. They clearly love their dogs at Wags and Freya always comes home happy and exhausted from all the fun she has.
Perfect dog groomers, friendly and value for money
Our little Rusty absolutely loves his time at Wags and Scruffs daycare! It’s clear he is thoroughly entertained and enriched during his time there as he is always sad to leave but has a good sleep afterwards! We completely trust the team at Wags, they are well qualified but you can also tell they really love the dogs and care for them as if they were their own. Couldn’t recommend Wags and Scruggs more!
Daisy has been going for a few months and loves it they are so good with her as she was a very nervous pup. Would highly recommend 👌

Absolutely fantastic lady. Lisa has given some good tips on her training of Stan( my dog) and Stan likes walking with Lisa. Would highly recommend Elite Walks to my friends and family x
Just completed the 5 week puppy training class. Lisa is really good, very knowledgeable and we learnt so much. Super friendly class and Lisa made us feel at ease and comfortable from day one.
We did the puppy socialisation class. It was really great and has helped make life much easier when on walks our out in a public place. Lisa is very nice and knowledgable. Even now I can test with a question and she is happy to help. Highly recommend.
Just finished 5 week puppy socialisation course. Our puppy Merlin is now much more confident and we have learned a lot. Highly recommend the course for puppy owners, it is fun! Also keeping Lisa's number safe in case we need a trustful dog walker :)
Lisa has been brilliant with my 2 dogs. I bring them to work and she really knows how to give them a great walk so they are calm for the rest of the day. They really love Lisa and can’t wait for their walks and training with her. Bonus Lisa give great advice for their meals and makes great dog treats 🧡

We just had our first consultation with Heath for our puppy and we have already learnt so much. We can’t wait to start puppy classes next week.
Heath is clearly incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of dog training, and equally importantly, he is very engaging and conveys the concepts/ methods very clearly and easily! Bring on one cool, calm and collected pup!
The call with Heath gave us so much more confidence in training our puppy. Heath provides lots of information and answered all my questions. Really looking forward to starting classes soon.
Only had a phone consultation so far but very inspiring and Heath is really down to earth and friendly, put me at ease and was easy to talk to. Watching the videos and starting the training at home until the classes start. Cant wait.
Found the consultation session with Heath very useful, some excellent tips and advice and also was useful to get reassurances about what we doing correctly so we could continue. Would recommend wholeheartedly. Looking forward to the actual puppy training as well as the videos.

James has been absolutely amazing with Alaia especially as she is such a nervous dog, he has helped to build up her confidence by walking her with other dogs. It is so nice to see how much Alaia loves James and this makes me feel so reassured as I know that my dog is happy and safe.
Very knowledgeable and helpful with puppy biting/behaviour and establishing routine. Great advice for separation anxiety. crate training, toilet training and much more.
My dog Monty loved Richard’s classes he is a great teacher and we both learnt a lot from the lessons
Richard is extremely professional and has really helped our dog. Richard goes the extra mile with training our dog out on walks and supporting her with things like road safety! Our dog always greets Richard with a wagging tail and a big smile. Thank you Richard!
Richard & James have been fantastic with our very large lively rescue dog Bosco. Richard came in quickly when I was put on bed rest through my pregnancy and has been walking Bosco for 5-7 days a week for the last 5 months. Bosco really enjoys his daily walks and meeting up with some of his doggy friends as well! It’s great to see him socialising and behaving himself on walks. We have also used the boarding service with James twice and having only been able to use kennels previously due to Bosco not being neutered it was so lovely for him to spend time in a home environment meeting up with lots of dogs and getting to have a snooze on the sofa after which means the world to us. Would highly recommend for training, dog walking and boarding! Both Richard and James are very polite and friendly too which is an added bonus!
Finding qualified dog trainers in Havering means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this East London borough, where suburban streets meet expansive green spaces and semi-rural areas. From training puppies in Romford town centre to managing reactive dogs in Raphael Park or Harrow Lodge Park, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to Havering's distinctive environment.
Serving all areas including Hornchurch, Upminster, Rainham, and Harold Hill, we've successfully trained over 2,800 dogs across the borough in the past nine years. Our expertise addresses the specific challenges of dog ownership in Havering, from navigating busy South Street in Romford to enjoying off-lead exercise in Bedfords Park and Cranham's countryside walks.
Havering presents unique training requirements shaped by its blend of urban centres, suburban housing, and green belt land. The borough boasts exceptional parks including Raphael Park, Langtons Gardens, and the extensive Havering Country Park, providing excellent training environments but requiring dogs to master recall and social skills around wildlife, cyclists, and other dogs encountered daily on popular walking routes.
The borough's diverse landscape means dogs must adapt to multiple environments—from busy Romford Market days and the activity around The Brewery Shopping Centre to quieter country lanes in Cranham and Upminster. Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for this variety, ensuring they remain calm on District line trains at Upminster Station, navigate crowded areas near Hornchurch High Street, and respond reliably in open spaces where sheep and horses graze nearby.
We provide professional dog training services across the entire London Borough of Havering, covering all RM postcode areas from RM1 through RM14. Our trainers regularly work near key locations including Romford's historic Market Place, Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, Rainham Hall, and Upminster Windmill, utilising the borough's excellent parks and quieter residential streets for effective training sessions. We serve communities from Collier Row to Elm Park, throughout Harold Wood and across neighbourhoods near Gidea Park and Emerson Park, with mobile services bringing professional training directly to your home, typically scheduling initial assessments within 24-48 hours.
Our puppy programmes build essential foundations during the critical 8-16 week socialisation period. We introduce young dogs to Havering's varied environment including traffic noise along the A127, market crowds, park activities, and the livestock encounters possible near green belt areas. Training covers house training, crate training for different property types, bite inhibition, and fundamental commands, with controlled socialisation in spaces like Central Park and Hylands Park helping puppies develop into confident, adaptable dogs.
Havering's popular walking routes often reveal reactivity issues that our behaviour modification programmes address systematically. Using positive reinforcement and desensitisation protocols, we help dogs overcome leash reactivity, fear-based responses, and aggression, working in varied locations from Thames Chase Forest paths to busier areas around Hornchurch Country Park, gradually building tolerance and replacing problematic behaviours with calm, focused responses.
For dogs progressing beyond basics, our advanced training develops the off-lead control essential for safely enjoying Havering's extensive open spaces. We build reliable recall despite distractions in locations like Bedfords Park and Dagnam Park, incorporating distance commands and emergency stops that give owners confidence whether walking along the Ingrebourne River or exploring the quieter paths near Cranham, ensuring dogs receive proper exercise while remaining under complete control.
Dog training in Havering typically ranges from £45-80 per hour for private sessions, with 6-8 week packages costing £320-550. Group classes average £15-25 per session, while puppy courses spanning six weeks cost £180-320. Specialist behaviour consultations range from £70-110 for initial assessments, with many trainers offering free phone consultations before committing to programmes.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old, as the critical socialisation window between 8-16 weeks shapes lifelong behaviour. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations around 10-12 weeks, though dogs of any age benefit from training in Havering's stimulating environment.
Absolutely. Our training specifically addresses Havering's unique character, preparing dogs for both urban settings like Romford and semi-rural areas near the green belt. This includes livestock awareness training essential for walks near Upminster and Cranham, combined with urban skills for navigating busy town centres, ensuring dogs adapt confidently to the borough's diverse landscapes.
Professional dog training in Havering creates confident, well-mannered dogs perfectly suited to the borough's unique blend of urban and countryside living. Our proven methods combine evidence-based techniques with intimate local knowledge, ensuring your dog thrives whether you live in a Romford apartment, a Hornchurch family home, or near Upminster's quieter streets. Contact us today to schedule your initial consultation and transform your dog into the reliable companion you've envisioned.
