Jessie our Border Terrier puppy loves to run in open spaces and being playful. Pampered Pets dog park was ideal being totally enclosed with obstacles and toys. This led on to puppy training classes taken by Michelle. This helped Jessie to integrate with other dogs, respond to basic commands, walk properly on the lead and gain confidence. We also learned a lot from these classes. Jessie thanks ‘Aunty Michelle’ for the goodies and the care and love given❤️
Been going to Michelle for nearly 1 year now. She is fantastic with dogs! My 1 year old lab always comes out looking + smelling great.
I can't say enough about the fantastic experience we've had with Michelle. From the moment we started, it was clear that this was someone with an incredible understanding of dogs and a true passion for their work. Michelle has an incredible ability to connect with dogs of all breeds and temperaments as we've seen through the weeks. Our puppy, Pippin, was struggling with certain commands and we were at a loss, as this was how we'd trained previous dogs. Within just a few sessions we saw significant improvement because she made it so fun for him! Michelle's approach is rooted in positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency, which really make's a huge difference. Pippin adores his twice weekly sessions, and so will your dog! Michelle is also fantastic for grooming pups too, Pippin came out looking so handsome and he smelled fantastic ☺️
Michelle has been great with our Cockapoo puppy Bailey. Puppy classes have been good fun while learning at the same time 🙂

Finding qualified dog trainers in Bangor City Centre connects you with professionals who understand the unique challenges of dog ownership in this historic North Wales cathedral city. From training puppies in the residential streets near Bangor Cathedral to managing reactive dogs along the Menai Strait waterfront, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to this compact city environment.
Serving all areas including Upper Bangor, Garth, Hirael, and the city centre LL57 postcode, we've successfully trained over 1,400 dogs across Bangor in the past eight years. Our expertise addresses local challenges from navigating busy High Street during market days to enjoying off-lead exercise in Treborth Botanic Garden and along coastal paths.
Bangor presents distinct training requirements shaped by its student population, Victorian terraced housing, and proximity to coastal and mountain environments. The city's compact nature means dogs regularly encounter diverse stimuli including students cycling along Ffriddoedd Road, crowds near Bangor University campus, and the unique sounds of the Menai Strait waterfront. Proper socialisation and urban manners training prove essential for harmonious city living.
Our trainers specialise in addressing Bangor-specific challenges including adapting to steep hills throughout Upper Bangor, desensitising dogs to student activity during term time, and building confidence for dogs who'll explore nearby Snowdonia trails. We understand local transport needs, ensuring your dog can confidently travel on buses to neighbouring Bethesda or Caernarfon, and navigate the bustling atmosphere around Deiniol Shopping Centre.
Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Bangor's urban environment including traffic along Holyhead Road, students on the university campus, and the varied terrain from city pavements to coastal paths. Training covers house training for terraced properties, basic commands, and controlled socialisation at locations like Parc Menai and the grounds near Penrhyn Castle.
Bangor's narrow streets and popular walking routes can trigger reactivity issues. Our programmes address leash reactivity on tight Victorian pavements, barrier frustration in terraced homes, and fear-based responses using positive reinforcement and systematic desensitisation techniques along quieter routes like North Road and busier areas near the Pier.
For dogs accessing Snowdonia's trails, our advanced training builds reliable recall despite wildlife, livestock, and other walkers. We prepare dogs for varied terrain from coastal paths to mountain environments, ensuring they respond consistently whether at Treborth Beach or exploring nearby Nant Ffrancon Valley.
Dog training in Bangor typically ranges from £35-65 per hour for private sessions. Group classes cost £10-18 per session, while comprehensive puppy courses average £120-220 for six weeks. Behaviour consultations for complex issues range from £50-80 for initial assessments.
Yes, we specialise in preparing Bangor dogs for mountain environments. Training includes reliable recall around livestock, trail etiquette, fitness building, and emergency responses. Most dogs require 6-10 sessions to develop the control and stamina needed for Snowdonia's challenging terrain safely.
Look for trainers with certifications from the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, Association of Pet Dog Trainers UK, or Kennel Club schemes. Experience with Welsh environments including livestock awareness and mountain safety proves particularly valuable for Bangor-based trainers preparing dogs for local outdoor activities.
