We took our 8 month old cocker to this site for the first time on Saturday, he absolutely loved it, he was so happy running free and very safe. Would recommend this site for any new owners of pups.

Wow what a lovely place to have fun with your dog. I googled agility training and K9 Academy popped up. It was less than 10 miles from us so we just had to go. Our Border Collie had never done anything like this before but was so exited to be jumping over fences and through hoops along with going through the tunnels and climbing over the obstacles. Private well kept field with professional kit and no distractions. Places to rest or have a picnic while you’re there. What a great evening we had and have already booked again. 100% recommended.

We originally took our dog to puppy classes and loved them so much that we ended up doing the obedience classes and then the hoopers sessions too. Wonderful, knowledgeable trainers for all of these sessions while still being fun. Don’t hesitate to book in a training course with them!

We started with Omnidogs doing Agility with our Romanian rescue Peggy, just as a way to burn off some energy and help build some confidence as she was a bit nervous, Sarah instantly picked up on her nervousness and we have come such a long way since then, we have been going for over a year now and Peggy absolutely loves it! We also did the fabulous focus workshop with Millie which was great, I learnt a lot and it gave us some great tips that I now use everyday!

Dora gets very excited when we go for our weekly "agility" training with Sarah. We have been going to Omnidogs for over a year now and Dora (and myself) learn something new every week. Sarah really knows how to get the best out of dogs and competes in Agility at a high level.

Before I met Raimonda I was at a loss with my chihuahua. I adopted him and saw how reactive he was quickly with barking at everything, getting out of control and he was very stressed. Going outside was a fear and hiding behind cars and bushes when people and dogs walked by. After training with Raimonda, we learnt so many training techniques and tips. I fully trusted the process and am in such a different place now which I never thought would happen. I’m so pleased we found Raimonda, the training sessions have been so valuable. Being able to take my dog out for calm walks is amazing! Highly recommend

I write this review as I sit and eat my lunch whilst my puppy FINALLY naps in his crate. This morning I was firmly stuck in the puppy blues but I feel so much more positive after my 2 hour session with Raimonda. I’ve always felt confident training my dogs but recently got a 5 month old puppy who had spent all his life so far in a kennels, so felt a bit confused about the best way forward, specifically with crate and toilet training. Raimonda has helped me make sense of how to train him and totally reinforced my confidence. I cannot thank you enough!

What can I say..Rai has worked wonders with my dog. He was fearful of everything but aggressive with it. Literally everything from people, dogs, pushchairs, joggers, hi viz jackets and bikes. He was a hyper nervous wreck. He also previously suffered trama in his life which added to it. I knew there was a softie under all that floof and I so desperate to help him, finding the right trainer was hard. Then literally I found Rai, a BIG ray of sunshine. Cannot thank her enough, she had a battle on her hands to find a safe way to work with us. She also gave me confidence as well to learn to trust him which was so hard!! She's not just a fantastic trainer but a lovely person and I have already recommended her to 3 people. She's really amazing👏 5 🌟 isn't enough. She has literally changed our lives!!

A huge and special thank you. We feel so grateful to Jonathan and Kathy for the help and support they have given our family and our miniature cockapoo Lola with preparing for her kennel stay. Lola was a rescue pup and her frightful start in life made her fearful of everything, 6 weeks before her kennel stay, our labradoodle; Monty who was her complete idol and linchpin passed away. I didn’t think Lola would cope in kennels without Monty and anxiously wrote to Jonathan for advice. Jonathan immediately put a plan in place to gently introduce Lola to Spiriteddawn kennels with a meet and greet following on with short stays under Jonathan’s guidance. I quickly felt really supported by Jonathan’s calmness, kindness and behavioural expertise and my own anxiety dissipated. When Lola’s week kennel stay arrived, I knew we couldn’t have left her in more expert and caring hands. The kennels are air conditioned and with pictures of cuddles with Kathy and play videos with Jonathan we felt completely at ease whilst away. Upon our return Lola was full of fun, perfectly groomed, her bedding washed and she had made lots of new doggy play friends. We cannot express how grateful we are to Jonathan and Kathy and hope this review will help others who may be feeling anxious when leaving their loved pets, I’m so glad I contacted Spiriteddawn kennels, I wouldn’t choose anywhere else! I would highly recommend these kennels as John and Kay really do put your fur baby first during their stay. Recently one of my dogs had needed meds for an enlarged prostate and whilst in kennels further problems occurred. John rang to advise me and to ask which vet id like him to take my dog to . He then took my dog to the vet and then kept a close on him for the rest of his stay . He telephoned me to let me know what the vet had said and Kay also messaged me each day to let me know how he was . My dogs are always happy to go which is good as one of them suffers with anxiety but I have no concerns about dropping them off there. The kennels are always clean , they have a good play area and they get taken out for a few walks each day . The love and care both John and Kay show is 5 * and they go beyond what you'd expect when caring for your dogs . Highly recommend.

Jerome is an incredible trainer & has great knowledge! Our dog was reactive and had little experience in general and with the information we were given/shown we’ve been able to fix how we are with our dog to help guide her! Everything was explained in such detail and demonstrated in such a way that the training was so easy to grasp too and implement into our everyday. Thank you so much! ☺️

Professional Dog Trainers in Whittlesey: Expert Canine Training Services

Finding experienced dog trainers in Whittlesey means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this historic Fenland market town. From training puppies near the tranquil Manor Leisure Centre to managing recall on walks along the picturesque River Nene, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to rural town living.

Serving Whittlesey town centre, Eastrea, Coates, and surrounding villages including Benwick and Pondersbridge, we've successfully trained over 450 dogs across the PE7 area in recent years. Our expertise addresses the specific needs of dog ownership in this close-knit community, from navigating market days on Market Street to enjoying expansive walks across the surrounding fenland countryside.

Why Choose Professional Dog Training in Whittlesey

Whittlesey presents distinctive training requirements shaped by its blend of historic town centre, residential developments, and surrounding agricultural landscape. The town's excellent access to open spaces including King's Dyke Nature Reserve and walking routes along the Nene provide wonderful exercise opportunities, but also require dogs with solid recall and livestock awareness given the proximity to working farms and rural areas.

Local challenges include training dogs to remain calm during the famous Whittlesey Straw Bear Festival, navigating busy periods at Stonald Road retail parks, and ensuring appropriate behaviour during walks through residential areas with narrow pavements. Many Whittlesey residents own working breeds or energetic dogs suited to country living, requiring structured training to channel their natural instincts appropriately while maintaining good manners in town settings.

Dog Training Solutions for Whittlesey Residents

Puppy Training and Foundation Skills

Our puppy programmes establish crucial foundations during the vital 8-16 week socialisation period. Training covers house training, crate training for family homes, basic commands, and controlled exposure to Whittlesey's environment including traffic on the A605, agricultural machinery sounds, and livestock scents. Socialisation sessions help puppies develop confidence around other dogs, children, and the diverse activities found in market towns.

Recall Training and Countryside Behaviour

Given Whittlesey's rural location, reliable recall proves essential for safe countryside walks. We develop strong off-lead control despite distractions including wildlife, livestock, and other dogs. Training incorporates livestock awareness, appropriate behaviour near farm animals, and emergency stops. This ensures your dog can enjoy fenland walks while respecting the working countryside and staying safe near roads and waterways.

Reactive Dog and Behaviour Modification

Our behaviour modification programmes address common issues including leash reactivity on town pavements, excessive barking in residential areas, and fear-based responses. Using positive reinforcement techniques, we help dogs develop calm responses to triggers encountered during daily life in Whittlesey, from passing other dogs near St Mary's Church to remaining settled during busy market days.

Common Questions About Dog Training in Whittlesey

Can you train my dog for countryside walks around Whittlesey?
