Had my first session with Forrest who worked with my 9 month old Doberdor. She engaged with him and I saw his leash walking progress there and then. Forrest gave me the tools that I needed to understand the way my dog thinks and I continued with her advice and techniques. Just two days after our session I was able to take my dog for a walk with him walking beside me without the need for his harness. I highly recommend Forrest!
Forrest came out to work with us and our 10-month-old puppy, Doug, who we’d been having a few challenges with. She took the time to discuss Doug’s behaviour and listen to my concerns. Throughout the session, Doug was completely engaged and seemed to have really clicked with Forrest. You can tell Forrest has extensive knowledge and her clear explanations made it easy for me to understand what to do. She took the time to answer any questions. Thank you so much Forrest for your guidance and advice! :)
Absolutely Brilliant, really knowledge, friendly and helpful Thanks again see you soon
Forrest is amazing with the help and support she has given in the first session. Given us something to work on before booking another session Thank you
Forrest visited our home and met Solomon our 9 month old Gerberian Shepsky. We asked for help with his nipping/mouthing/lead biting and various other things. Forrest listened and asked lots of questions about Solomon She really understood him and how to get the best out of our pup. We've been shown games to play to reduce the unwanted behaviour and so far so good. Forrest is coming for a walk with us next time to work on things like lunging and pulling. I know she'll have great advice and she'll be good company at the same time. She is a doggy genius!

I highly recommend Laura. Daisy and I had such fun in our first session and learnt a great deal. Laura made it enjoyable, very easy to understand and put into practice, and followed up by sending comprehensive notes and advice afterwards. She is also a very lovely lady and passionate about the welfare and health of dogs. REALLY looking forward to our second session with her.

Great group of really friendly trainers, its obvious just how much they enjoy seeing pups develop their skills. They also take keen interest in individual dogs, knowing that what works for one breed does not work for another. I personally would highly recommend them if you want your dog to be sociable and obedient.
Today my puppy was kicked out of the first day of training. I was taken aside and was told “this isn’t going to work”. The first thing the woman asked was “what breed is he?” Like that should even matter. I am aware that my dog is reactive, like nearly all of the dogs attending today but I am a responsible dog owner that tried to take my dog to training classes. Rather than actually saying what she meant she instead told me the class was more for smaller breeds, when there were bigger dogs than mine in the room and that he needs “professional help”. My question to you is, are you not a professional? Are you not taking money off people to help train their dogs? That sounds pretty professional to me. The fact that me and Ozzy were kicked out today was simply because he’s a big dog and you believed he was an XL Bully. He’s a cross, but in this current climate with a ban up coming do you not think as dog trainers that you should be less discriminatory? The treatment we received this evening was disgusting. If you are going to have a problem with what breed he is, then just say that rather than pretending it’s some other issue.
Excellent advice and good for dogs
Excellent for dog training. Please be under no illusion it is to train you, to then be able to train your dog and have control. You have to put in the practice every day to get the results but well worth it.I have trained all 3 of my dogs with Rita and her team and would never go anywhere else.
So friendly elsa had a ball
Finding qualified dog trainers in Penn means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this historic Buckinghamshire village. Whether you're training a puppy for walks through Penn Woods or teaching recall in the fields surrounding Holy Trinity Church, our experienced trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to village life.
Serving Penn village, Tylers Green, Knotty Green, and surrounding areas including HP10 postcodes, we've successfully trained over 450 dogs in the local community during the past eight years. Our expertise addresses the specific needs of Penn residents, from navigating narrow village lanes to enjoying off-lead walks through ancient woodlands and National Trust properties.
Penn's semi-rural character creates distinct training requirements. The village's beautiful ancient woodlands including Penn Woods and historic pathways require dogs with excellent recall amid wildlife distractions like deer, squirrels, and pheasants. Local country pubs such as The Crown and The Red Lion welcome well-behaved dogs, making proper pub etiquette training valuable for community integration.
The village's narrow lanes, lack of pavements in some areas, and proximity to busy roads like the A404 demand impeccable lead manners and road safety awareness. Our trainers understand these local challenges, preparing dogs for Penn's unique blend of countryside tranquillity and nearby urban access to High Wycombe and Beaconsfield.
Our puppy programmes build essential skills during the critical 8-16 week period, introducing young dogs to Penn's environment including woodland sounds, livestock in nearby fields, and village activities. Training covers house training, basic commands, and controlled socialisation in local settings, creating confident village dogs ready for rural life.
Reliable recall is essential for safely enjoying Penn's woodlands and footpaths. We develop bombproof recall despite wildlife distractions, distance commands, and advanced control suitable for exploring Penn Woods, Hodgemoor Woods, and local bridleways. This training provides freedom while maintaining safety in areas with livestock and wildlife.
We specialise in training appropriate for village life, including settling calmly in dog-friendly pubs, walking politely past horse riders on bridleways, remaining calm around livestock, and showing good manners in Penn's close-knit community. This ensures your dog is a welcomed member of village society.
Dog training in Penn typically costs £45-80 per hour for private sessions, with package deals of £320-550 for 6-8 week programmes. Group classes range from £15-25 per session. Prices reflect the rural location and specialist expertise required for countryside training including wildlife distraction work and livestock awareness.
Penn offers excellent training locations including Penn Woods for recall work, quiet village lanes for lead training, and fields around Church Road for distraction training. Many trainers use Penn Common and nearby Hodgemoor Woods for advanced off-lead training. Home visits are popular given the village's rural character and limited public facilities.
Livestock training is essential in Penn's rural setting. Professional trainers use controlled exposure techniques, teaching dogs to remain calm and under control near sheep, horses, and cattle found in surrounding fields. Training typically requires 4-8 weeks, focusing on reliable recall, lead manners near livestock, and appropriate behaviour on public footpaths crossing farmland.
Professional dog training in Penn creates well-mannered companions suited to village life, from woodland walks to community pub visits. Our proven methods combine modern training techniques with understanding of rural living requirements, ensuring your dog thrives in Penn's unique environment.
