These puppy training classes were excellent! I use a rollator to walk and Kathryn helped me change exercises to accommodate my needs and adjust to doing them with my rollator. The classes were detailed, plenty of opportunity for questions or extra help and taught the basics of puppyhood such as the following commands: Sit, stay, recall, leave it, heel work, focus on owner, etc. The classes were a maximum of 5 which was a lot better and meant Kathryn could give each of us the individual attention and provide alternative ways, adjustments and methods of training. She showed the value of high value versus lower value treats and how to slowly reduce value, quantity and need for treats as we progress and to replace with affection instead of treats. At the end, we got a certificate and rosette for completing the class. I would highly recommend this puppy class for new puppy parents.

Kathryn is a fabulous trainer, the whole puppy training course was so enjoyable. We were all made to feel welcome and comfortable. The easy way in which Kathryn explains things helps you feel confident and motivated to work with your pup. We loved every minute - wish it was a bit longer though as it was so good.
Kathryn is a brilliant trainer. We struggled to get our dog onto a puppy training course and Kathryn suggested the Gun Dog Training Stage 1 as an alternative. This was perfect as we learnt basic commands and developed our bond. We now have the skills needed to manage a very active young dog. We loved it!

Dawn is an amazing dog handler/trainer. She is very enthusiastic, and realistic regarding each dog's ability. Understanding that most of our dogs are pets we want to be happy, sociable animals. She is encouraging, and always very positive. My dog even entered obedience in competitions! Very unusual for a Pug!!! I highly recommend Preston Trick Dogs.

Despite personally having nearly 40 years experience owning German Shepherd Dogs, I sensed that I had reached a point with our current rescue dog's training where we had stalled, due to her very complex, extreme and challenging behaviours. After contacting several canine 'experts' in training and behaviour, I found that none were willing to take on the challenge. It was then that I was recommended to contact Jack at J&P Canine Academy, a recommendation for which we're now really grateful. Jack was unphased and won over our dog's trust very quickly, and his behavioural insights have proven to be pivotal in her continued rehabilitation and development. Through Jack's knowledge, support and encouragement we now have a varied new skill set which, with our continued training work at home and on walks, enables us to see marked improvements.
Where do I start! The knowledge that Jack has regarding dogs and dogs behaviour is unmatched. We attended a 1-1 session with Jack on friday to try and improve our boys reaction to other dogs. At the start of the session Jack spoke through our typical day with Bowie, asking plenty of questions on how our day is structured. This gave Jack a good understanding of mine and Bowies day to day relationship and a good foundation to start with. Jack then met Bowie (which they both loved) and built a quick bond which helped structure the whole session. Jack could quickly tell the issues we were having and how to improve on them, we done some more chatting and then put his knowledge to the test. Bowie, as expected, had a little grumble at a passing dog which Jack quickly showed us how to deal with. This information has improved mine and Bowies relationship by a factor of 10. A combination of an improved relationship and the knowledge on how to deal with Bowies feelings has been absolutely life changing. We then also caught wind of a workshop that Jack was holding the following day, brining our reactive dogs into the real world and putting our new found knowledge to the test. Bowie performed amazing during the workshop all thanks to Jack. I could not recommend Jack more. If youre having issues with your dogs behaviour in any way shape or form please speak to Jack and I promise his information will be extremely valuable. He is extremely easy to talk to and holds no judgement as im sure he's seen 1000's of dogs and handlers with issues. An absolute gent of a man. Understanding your dog and establishing a clear line of communication so they can understand you is the key. Jack has helped us do that. Thank you very very much for all your help and information mate. It has improved mine and bowies time together massively and given me a new interest in dogs and their behaviours. Im sure in the future, once we've reinforced what we learned at the weekend, we will be visiting Jack to take our training to the next level with both of my dogs.
Been on several workshops with Jack and his knowledge and skill in helping dogs and their humans is amazing. I learn something new about myself, my dog, our relationship and how I can be better for him everytime I see Jack. He always insights motivation and renews my focus when I loose my way. His knowledge and skill is matched only by his enthusiasm and passion for his work, his dedication to his field is evident in his relationship with his own dogs, it is utterly mesmerising to watch him work Maska and see the incredible bond they have. If you want a trainer who doesn't just follow a book, who doesn't believe one size fits all, and who doesnt just talk the talk, Jack is your man. He walks the walk, no matter how long or hard the path!

Brilliant workshop by Jack at Focus K9 in Crewe today. My border terrier, Ruby, responded really well to his skilled mixture of animated play and clear behaviour rules. He's put me one step closer to my dream of a 'take anywhere' dog. Great to watch him working with the larger breeds too. We've all come away with loads of info and things to try. Thanks, Jack!

Harrison’s Dog Training was recommended by our local vet as an experienced positive skills based trainer. We chose the Pet Gun Dog classes for our Labrador, to work on engagement and impulse control. She has thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and it has been great to see her use her working dog brain in a fun, force free environment. We would highly recommend Harrison’s Dog Training for all breeds of dog, as there are classes for many different abilities and ages.

Having taken on a rescue from Romania we were beginning to despair if we could ever get him to settle and behave but Myles gave us the tools and the confidence that made the difference. We now have a more contented and well behaved dog. It takes dedication but with Myles help and support it has been so worth it.
Have been using Harrisons since my dog was 3 months old. Started with puppy class, moving onto Bronze awards and also had some 1-2-1 support. Myles has great knowledge in dog training and behaviours. Together with Tina and their doggy helpers make a great team and i would highly recommend for a dog of any age and ability.
