Adam is a 5 star trainer… this has only been our first session and our dog has completely changed. I’m mesmerised by the change and looking forward to the next 9 sessions… I highly recommend 100%…
In our first 2 hour session with Adam, we saw a huge improvement of our dog Benji’s behaviour. While previously he wouldn’t sit or stay and would weave while walking, after this first session we already were able to get Benji to listen to instructions, socialise with other dogs safely and stay calmer. We also feel like better dog owners with a better understanding of his behaviour from all the information we were provided. We cannot wait for the rest of our sessions and to see Benjis progress. Adam’s direct and concise approach was consistently backed up by his wealth of knowledge and clear results. All the other edit owners we met were so happy with the progress their own dogs were making.
Within 2hours Adam had helped my daughter calm our dog down and start to train her, she went from an aggressive, scary, very vocal stressed dog to a whole new dog i honestly thought i would never see!! In a huge pack of lots of other dogs of all sizes and temperaments my dog was walking around with and doing commands when asked once. Not only that Adam helped us to understand more about our ways as owners but never made us feel like we was awful for the things we had tried to do just explain in simple terms which helped us to understand and change our ways to support the training! Im excited for the next lot of training sessions now and more so excited about actually being able to take my dog for a walk without all the stress behind it for both of us! I cant recommend anyone better than these trainers!!
I recently enrolled my dog, Sherlock (27 months old), in MidlandsGrizzlys' dog school, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Sherlock started with the first ten sessions focused on obedience training, followed by the off-lead programme. The transformation has been remarkable—he's now a stable and well-behaved fur baby, ready to be a positive member of society. The experience has been fantastic, not just for Sherlock but for me as well. It's a brilliant way to get out and meet a wonderful group of people who share a love for dogs. Adam is savvy and genuinely cares about each dog's progress, making the sessions enjoyable and effective. If you're considering dog training, I wholeheartedly recommend MidlandsGrizzlys. It's more than just training your dog it's about building a community and enjoying the journey together. Give it a go—you won't regret it!

Tried to contact Our Love of Dogs 3 times and never got back to me, my wife tried too & had the same. Very dissapointing.
Amanda made me feel really comfortable from the start, explaining in great detail what we needed to do to help my young Staffy Skye and for me to gain confidence when giving command, she also sent me links of training techniques. Skye was pulling constantly on walks and trying to jump on contact with people or other dogs, I also wanted to be able to let her off leash in the park. After 7 weeks of loose leash training etc. there was a definite improvement. Now a few months have passed and the improvement is amazing. I would 100% recommend.
We have a staffy-whippet cross who we rehomed after a difficult start to life. She is very energetic and was a nervous dog who got on well with some dogs but was reactive to others. She was nervous being outside so would always be on edge, she'd never sit or lie down outside. We worked on building her confidence being outside, her recall and her reactivity to some dogs. Thanks to Claire and Amanda, she's calmer with both being outside and other dogs. We'd recommend Our Love For Dogs to anyone
Amanda has worked wonders with our anxious mini dachshund, Otto! He was such an anxious boy, so barky at people, buggies, bikes, children, many breeds of dog...... the list went on! Amanada has instilled in us how we need to anticipate and respond to such such 'perceived threats' with positive reinforcement. He in now literally a different dog and walks are far less stressful and enjoyable for both Otto and ourselves. Amanada initially worked with us in our home and then we progressed to outside walks where she brought an unfamiliar dog on two occasions to gradually desensitise Otto and build up his confidence around them. By the end of each of these sessions he was able to walk next to the dog quite happily and in a relaxed maner! Another session was spent in Harbourne, with Otto visiting dog friendly cafes, hair salons and book shops - again, this was a great success - we even had tea and cake in a lovely cafe with a very content and well behaved Otto! Our final session took place in Warley Woods - a fantastic opportunity for Otto because he met so many dogs - even two giant Bernese Mountatin Dogs,! With Amanda's guidance Otto had the confidence to interact with so many breeds, again largely with minimal anxiety. We cannot recomment Amnada highly enough. Her love for dogs shines through. She is so friendly, patient, knowledeable and professional. She answered so many questions and quereies and made so many helpful suggestions. It is now down to us to continue with Otto the strategies Amanda has put in place, but he is such a happier boy! Thank you Amanda. You are brilliant!
Big thank you to Amanda for all her help with our puppy cocker spaniel Tommy very professional trainer we have learnt a lot from her experience would recommend.

What an amazing experience, bought as a birthday present for my friend. We didn't stop smiling all the way through. Yoga class was great then the Puppies!!! So happy 😊 🐶🐾🐾💖
All the puppies were well socialised and clearly well cared for, in a calm environment. It was a gentle short yoga session with plenty of time for puppy cuddles - everything my daughter and I were hoping for. I had to rearrange my original booking and the team were very understanding and accommodating. Would recommend!
Amazing puppy experience! The puppies were so cute and they always have different breeds every time I go! Came here for Galentines with my girls and with my partner for an anniversary present ❤️
Myself and a friend came to Birmingham for this experience and it was wonderful! From start to finish the staff were fabulous and incredibly kind! It was such a wonderful experience and we would definitely do it again! Thank you!
I’ve been here 3 times and each time has just been the hour I’ve needed for a mental reset. The team are just so incredibly friendly, warming and you can tell they really care about the puppies as well as providing a wholesome, fulfilling hour for the customers. Absolutely adore coming (it’s been 10 months so I’m 100% overdue) and adore the environment provided. If you need a detox, a reset or just puppy cuddles …this is absolutely it! Thank you guys 🩷
Finding skilled dog trainers in Jewellery Quarter means connecting with professionals who understand the unique challenges of raising dogs in Birmingham's historic creative district. From training puppies in converted warehouse apartments to managing reactive dogs along the canal towpaths near St Paul's Square, our certified trainers deliver tailored obedience training, behaviour modification, and socialisation programmes designed for urban living. Serving the entire B1 and B18 postcode areas, we've successfully trained over 800 dogs across this vibrant neighbourhood in the past eight years.
Jewellery Quarter presents distinctive training requirements shaped by its blend of industrial heritage, modern apartments, and thriving cultural scene. The area's cobbled streets, busy cafés along Vyse Street and Frederick Street, and popular canal-side walks demand dogs with excellent lead manners and public behaviour. With limited private outdoor space in converted loft apartments and Victorian buildings, most dogs rely on nearby green spaces like St Paul's Gardens and canal towpaths for exercise, making solid recall and socialisation essential.
Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for this urban lifestyle, addressing challenges including desensitisation to tram noise from the Metro line, navigating crowded areas near the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, and maintaining calm behaviour in dog-friendly establishments throughout the quarter. We understand local needs, from training dogs for apartment living to ensuring they can confidently walk through the weekend markets and cultural events that make this neighbourhood unique.
Our puppy programmes focus on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, systematically introducing young dogs to Jewellery Quarter's urban environment including tram sounds, street performers, canal boats, and the diverse surfaces found throughout historic streets. Training covers apartment-appropriate house training, crate training for compact living spaces, bite inhibition, and essential commands, with controlled sessions near St Paul's Church and along Birmingham Canal ensuring puppies develop confidence in busy urban settings.
We specialise in preparing dogs for Jewellery Quarter's dog-friendly culture, teaching them to settle calmly in cafés and bars, walk politely through crowded areas like the Custard Factory and Great Western Arcade, and maintain composure around outdoor dining areas. Dogs learn to ignore food on pavements, navigate stairs in converted buildings, and remain calm during cultural events, making them welcome companions throughout the neighbourhood's vibrant social scene.
The popular canal towpaths and compact streets often reveal reactivity issues. Our behaviour modification programmes address leash reactivity on narrow pavements, barrier frustration in ground-floor apartments, and fear responses to unfamiliar stimuli. Using positive reinforcement along quieter routes near Key Hill Cemetery before progressing to busier areas, we build tolerance and reliable recall, replacing reactive behaviours with calm focus even when encountering other dogs on towpaths or in St Paul's Gardens.
Professional dog training in Jewellery Quarter typically ranges from £45-80 per hour for private sessions, with 6-week packages averaging £300-550. Group classes cost £15-25 per session, while puppy courses span £180-320. Mobile trainers serving the B1 area offer home visits without additional travel fees, and many provide initial consultations to discuss your dog's specific needs before committing to a programme.
Jewellery Quarter offers excellent training locations including St Paul's Gardens for basic obedience, canal towpaths from St Vincent Street to Gas Street Basin for recall and distraction work, and quieter streets around Key Hill Cemetery for early training. Our trainers utilise these varied environments to build real-world skills, progressing from quiet early morning sessions to busier periods as your dog's confidence grows.
Professional dog training in Jewellery Quarter creates well-mannered companions perfectly suited to this historic neighbourhood's unique urban lifestyle. Our evidence-based programmes address the specific challenges of apartment living, canal-side walks, and Birmingham's creative quarter culture, ensuring your dog thrives in this vibrant community. Contact us today to schedule your initial consultation and start building the confident, obedient companion you've always wanted.
