Been using Halo dogs since 2009 from our first dog,we boarded him,did day care and agility classes and he loved it all.fast forward the years (and now with 3 rescue dogs,)we are still using halo dogs day care ! Whether it’s a weekend or a week away for us,this is where our dogs go,I wouldn’t trust anyone or anywhere else, and although we moved from enfield to St Albans it’s not too far to bring our dogs to halo dogs for a stay as we know they will be cared for 100% as if they were at our home ❤️

I needed to review again to say Halo has continued to provide an exceptional service and environment. Justin and the team are always making improvements at the farm to add to the facilities and care of their four legged clients! The addition of resident veterinary nurse, the wonderful Ros was so inspired. She provides healthcare support and advice. Our Sydney (now 4 years old) is terrified of the vet and suffers from allergy based ear infections which she receives medication for. Ros keeps a check on progress and cleans her ears - which Sydney allows as she trusts and loves her. This has been instrumental in managing the problem and avoids stress for Sydney (and us) of frequent vet visits. When we think Halo can’t get any better, it always does! ____________________________________________ Halo is now part of our extended family. We chose them for their ethos and focus on the needs of their clients, the dogs! Sydney (Westie) has been going to day care since she was 4 months old (now 2 years), initially once a week when I was preparing to go back to the office. Lockdown hit again and she was soon going twice a week - I was at home BUT she loves it so much! Who wouldn’t? Running free in an amazing dog park on a farm, playing with friends all day, walks in the woods and having your own special hooman looking out for you! Sydney adores Michael, and so do we! He always tells us about her day, her shenanigans and offers advice to help us deal with her little quirks. And he takes brilliant photos for her daily pupdate! Justin (the boss) communicates really well with members of the Halo family and always puts the well-being and happiness of the dogs first - I’m really grateful for their help when we had a family emergency and they took care of Sydney. They now have a vet on site - Ros was really helpful in checking Sydney over when I was a concerned about her ears. Dogs of all sizes are mixed together, which I really like and has made Sydney a socialite in our local park. When we have needed to use boarding it has not been a problem as it’s her second home!

We did Lydia’s online puppy training course and it was fantastic! Lydia was super helpful, really friendly, and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. After each session, she sent a follow-up email with a summary of what we covered, which made it so much easier to practice at home. The course really helped build our puppy’s confidence and ours too. We’d definitely recommend Lydia to anyone looking for puppy training support!

Had a private session for our pup with Clare who was brilliant. Very professional, knowledgeable and the session was fun (for us and our pup!). Learnt lots not just about walking confidently and recall which was the aim of the session but also about our pups health and gut which we had questions about. Will defo use Clare again and recommend her to anyone!

Finley came to us as a nervous rescue dog over 4 years ago. Through this time, we have used many of Clare and Andy's services, including dog walking, day care, and training sessions (1:1 and group). It is hard to put into words how incredibly helpful they have all been. Not only have we felt part of their family but support was always provided with Finley's wellbeing at the heart. If you are looking for holistic support that provides fabulous care, attention to their individual needs, and can significantly improve your relationship with your dog, then Clare and Andy are the best choice you could make.

Claire has been an absolute life saver! After an hour with Claire we had all the tools we needed to convert our long-term foster beagle from a food-obsessed ball of anxiety and nerves into a calm and satisfied boy. The incessant barking has reduced by 95% and he’s so much happier in himself. And I’m happier knowing that friends and family don’t mind coming over to my home now too! I’m looking forward to this 13 and a half year old boy being able to enjoy his golden years feeling calm and happy. Thank you Claire, from Bailey and I, for all your help!

Our puppy, Millie, has just finished her six week training program with Claire at Muddy Muttleys. Due to Claire’s excellent training techniques etc., we are now well equipped to take our crazy collie/spaniel to the next stage. More about training the humans than the dog, I think. Thank you Claire, you’re brilliant! Highly recommended!

Jo has been incredible in changing my 1 year old maltese. My dog Aky,had multiple problems, like resource guarding, aggressive, reacting to dogs. We initially had her for 1 visit however she managed to split one visit into 2 as she said that’s what it would work better for us. One visit for inside and one for outside. She came in and immediately started making changes to our dog,Aky. She came in,clearly explained what caused the problems and the solutions to it. Answered all the questions that we had and she was always there to reply to the emails whenever something went wrong.Aky is a different dog now, less aggressive. She went above and beyond to change Aky and 100% she did. The notes helped as well as I always went back to them if there was something I was unsure about. Most importantly she loves what she is doing and she is doing it with passion. Thank you for all your support Jo! You made us very very happy😊

Jo came to us for a 2 hour visit as our dog had quite bad resource guarding issues. We can honestly say this visit from Jo changed our lives. Jo took us through what was actually causing the situation and things were put in place to turn things around and there were many things we were doing wrong . Everything was explained clearly and made total sense and really opened our eyes. This visit was a month ago and our dog and the whole situation has changed dramatically and all for the better . The change in such a short time is unbelievable. It's still a work in progress but we are just so greatful for everything that Jo has taught us The bond we have with our dog now is so much better as we see the change in him everyday. We would 100% recommend Jo if you want actual results.

We had a really difficult dog when our twins arrived and we feared we would have to give him up. Others tried to correct him but didn't succeed. Jo went above and beyond, even taking Dino (our dog) home with her to change him. She worked a miracle which has allowed Dino to stay with us. I highly recommend Jo.

Jo has an amazing depth of knowledge and skill. Her advice and techniques had an immediate impact on Teddy who was becoming more and more reactive. It was quite unbelievable to see the impact on him and whilst we continue to work with him Jo has given us lots of guidance on how to do that. Cannot recommend Jo highly enough.

Thirteen years ago, Jo helped me set boundaries for my 8-week-old puppy. So when our new dachshund puppy started getting a bit demanding and was having accidents all over the house, I knew exactly who to call. Jo arrived expecting to teach our Bear a few simple commands, but as soon as the doorbell rang, the whole house erupted into chaos with barking and three dogs running wild! Jo quickly set us up with a strategy to follow over the next two weeks and promised to return afterward. To be honest, there were moments when I wanted to forget it all and let the dogs back into our bed for a cuddle, but we stuck to the plan, and the results have been amazing. The dogs, and the entire household, are so much calmer now. With four adult kids coming and going, we have a busy home, but the dogs now have a routine, and everyone is much happier as a result. On a side note.... Watching Jo take control of a pack of dogs using only hand signals is truly impressive!

Why Choose Professional Dog Training in Enfield

Enfield offers exceptional dog-walking opportunities with extensive green spaces including Trent Country Park, Grovelands Park, and Forty Hall Estate, but this abundance of parks means dogs regularly encounter wildlife, other dogs, and diverse activities requiring excellent training and recall. The borough's mix of residential areas, from Victorian terraces in Winchmore Hill to modern developments near Enfield Lock, creates varied training environments that demand adaptable, well-mannered dogs.

Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for Enfield's unique characteristics, including desensitisation to Piccadilly line trains at stations like Oakwood and Southgate, navigating the busy market days in Enfield Town, and building confidence around the waterways and wildlife in Lee Valley Regional Park. We understand that many Enfield residents commute into central London, so we ensure dogs are comfortable with various transport options and can settle calmly when left at home.

Dog Training Solutions for Enfield Pet Owners

Puppy Socialisation and Foundation Training

Our puppy programmes capitalise on the critical 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Enfield's environment including traffic along the A10, park activities at Broomfield Park, and encounters with wildlife common in areas like Whitewebbs Park. Training includes house training, crate training for various property types, bite inhibition, and essential commands, building confident urban and suburban dogs.

Reactive Dog and Behaviour Modification

Enfield's popular walking routes through Pymmes Park and along the New River Path often reveal reactivity issues. Our programmes address leash reactivity, fear-based responses, and resource guarding using positive reinforcement techniques. We conduct training in controlled environments, gradually building tolerance so dogs remain calm when encountering triggers on narrow pathways or in busy park areas.

Advanced Recall and Off-Lead Training

Our advanced training develops reliable off-lead control essential for safely enjoying Enfield's extensive open spaces like Trent Park and Hilly Fields. We build bombproof recall despite distractions including deer, squirrels, other dogs, and joggers, incorporating distance commands and emergency stops that give owners complete confidence during walks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Training in Enfield

How much does dog training cost in Enfield?

Dog training in Enfield typically costs £45-80 per hour for private sessions, with 6-8 week packages ranging from £320-550. Group classes average £15-25 per session, while puppy courses span £180-320. These rates reflect Enfield's position as an outer London borough, offering professional services at more accessible prices than central areas.

What age should I start training my puppy in Enfield?

Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home around 8 weeks old. The critical socialisation window between 8-16 weeks makes early exposure to Enfield's parks, streets, and transport links essential. Puppies can join group classes after initial vaccinations at 10-12 weeks, though dogs of any age benefit from professional training.

Can my dog be trained for off-lead walks in Enfield's parks?

Yes, dogs can achieve reliable off-lead behaviour through systematic training.
