I’m so incredibly grateful that Vanessa was recommended to me. I’m sure the first 2 months of having my puppy would’ve looked very different without her thoughtful guidance, advice and expertise. I was a first time dog owner, and whilst I had spent a lot of time with an adult whippet, I hadn’t owned my own dog or even been around a puppy before. Anyone who has experienced this knows how different an adult whippet and a puppy whippet are! I started working with Vanessa before I even brought my puppy home (highly recommended this) and she was so helpful in sharing advice on potty training, crate training, toys, sleeping set up and even vet recommendations. This made me feel so much more prepared and I think made for a calm and confident first few days for my puppy. We then started training in person with Vanessa the day after I got my puppy, and again having Vanessa by my side meant that I was equipped with the knowledge to help with the less fun elements (biting, shoelace pulling, crazy zoomies etc) and also already start with proactive settle training, basic commands, fun tricks and most importantly bonding. Over the last 2 months I’ve bought 2 puppy packages and we’re now doing magic matt, home alone training, recall and leave it. Beyond being a great trainer, Vanessa has also introduced me to daycare (House of Hounds in London Fields), dog sitters and a local sighthound WhatsApp group. This is because Vanessa goes above and beyond for her clients and genuinely cares. When my puppy was sick, she kept checking in out of genuine worry and love for her. When I was sending panicked messages (hello puppy blues and lack of sleep) she was non judgemental and didn’t shame me. I don’t think I would have the sweet and calm puppy I have today without Vanessa, so I am incredibly thankful. At not even 4 months, she is able to settle by herself, not bark for food, lets me clean her paws, loves her crate, sits, stay, down and has totally stopped biting. There is lots to still work on as she develops, but I feel confident knowing that I have Vanessa.

We worked with Vanessa with our rescue lurcher cross Fraggle. Vanessa has really helped us understand Fraggle's needs and behaviour and he's now much calmer and happier and we have a lovely bond with him. We worked on mouthing behaviours, his love for prey, and leaving him alone. Couldn't recommend Vanessa enough! 🐶

Vanessa was brilliant with our dog Albie. She taught us some really good new techniques to train our puppy, setting us up to work on his settling on a mat and recall out and about. We really appreciated the time she took to talk us through various approaches and also how enthusiastic and fun she was with our puppy. We’ve just finished our fourth session with Vanessa, and we honestly couldn’t be more grateful for her help! When we first got in touch, we were feeling totally overwhelmed – trying to make sense of all the conflicting advice online, and just not sure if we were doing things right with our 4.5-month-old whippet, Peggy. From the first session, Vanessa made us feel completely at ease. She’s kind, non-judgemental, and really knows her stuff. Peggy also adores her! We’ve been working on things like lead walking, recall, helping keep focus on us, crate training, building up alone time, and settling, and we’re seeing real progress. The sessions have also made us feel so much more confident and in control, which has been a huge relief. If you’re feeling a bit lost or just want some expert, compassionate guidance, we can’t recommend her enough.

We had tried everything to help our Labradoodle, Bella, with her separation anxiety. I mean everything—“Even X?” Yes, X, Y, Z, and the whole alphabet! Nothing seemed to work… until we were found brilliant Vanessa. Vanessa has been a total game-changer—not just for Bella, but for us too. If you’ve ever lived with a dog suffering from separation anxiety, you know how emotionally draining and overwhelming it can be. Vanessa didn’t just help Bella—she supported us through every step of the process. She has an incredible ability to understand dog behaviour from videos, things that we may miss even though we think we know our dog so well. She really listens to all of our concerns, is always available for questions (no matter how small!), and constantly tailors Bella’s plan based on her progress and personality. You can tell she’s not only an expert, but truly passionate about what she does. Thanks to Vanessa, we finally feel hopeful—and Bella is happier and more confident than ever, with real concrete results. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone going through the same struggle. She’s the real deal.

We did Lydia’s online puppy training course and it was fantastic! Lydia was super helpful, really friendly, and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. After each session, she sent a follow-up email with a summary of what we covered, which made it so much easier to practice at home. The course really helped build our puppy’s confidence and ours too. We’d definitely recommend Lydia to anyone looking for puppy training support!

Jamie came to us a week ago and was brilliant. I had problems with a few things but the main one was toilet training. He talked me through and we had a training session. Now, one week later my dog is toilet trained. I cannot recommend this person highly enough and will be keeping in touch for any future problems. If you are struggling with Puppy/Dog training then this is for you.

Jamie is phenomenal. He gave me such generous and solid advice, and just hearing his perspective on our dog's behavior has already done so much and brought about such positive change for our dog and for us. I'm really grateful and look forward to working with Jamie in future!

Uptown Dogs become an extension of your family very quickly. Jamie and Ludmila are exceptional. They care for my family pup deeply and go the extra mile to make sure he is well looked after. The walks are just one part of what they do — they are always happy to share advice and tips so that our pup thrives. This is a rare duo. We are grateful to have them in our lives.

More than just a dog trainer! We’ve had so much advice and guidance in such a short period of time, from people who genuinely understand, have huge experience and care. Our 15 week old puppy is calm and listening to our instructions really well. We’ve been taught great techniques. Highly recommend using Up Town dogs.

We have had a super positive experience with Jamie. We had an initial phone call with him soon after our pup came home, several 1 on 1 training sessions and lots of follow ups via WhatsApp. Jamie has been super helpful in all elements of new puppy ownership that extends far beyond skills training, his advice has been invaluable in understanding our pups behaviour too. He gives you genuine honest advice and also prompts you to think about your own actions/role in why your pup might be behaving a certain way. Would highly recommend to anyone! Katherine & Hugh

I am truly grateful for the incredible gift Agnes shared with me. Her ability to connect with animals on such a deep and intuitive level is truly extraordinary. While I was speaking with Agnes about my beloved dog Rex who passed away few years back, I was moved beyond words when Agnes could feel his presence surrounding us. What happened next was something I didn’t expect. She channeled a message from Rex- with such clarity, compassion and warmth- that touched something deep within me. I could feel love so clearly that all the pain I’d been holding onto simply began to melt away. That day I received an incredible gift. What Agnes offered me is so much more than communication: it’s emotional liberation, spiritual connection and unconditional love, all wrapped in a presence that is deeply safe and grounded. THANK YOU, my dear Agnes! You are a healer, a guide, a bridge between hearts.

Working with Agnes has been one of the most beautiful experiences—for both me and my dog, Max. We were on a journey to support Max through his grief, as he had been carrying so much since the loss of my husband. What Agnes offered wasn’t just healing—it was deep, soulful connection. She communicated with Max in a way I’ve never witnessed before. She truly saw him. Understood him. And helped me understand him too. That meant the world to me. Since our sessions, Max has become more affectionate, more at peace, and so much lighter in his energy. I could feel the shift in him—he seemed genuinely happier and calmer. He’s always been my comfort through grief, and now I feel like I’ve finally been able to give something back to him. Supporting his emotional wellbeing was the best gift I could give, and I’m deeply grateful I found Agnes. If your dog is going through emotional pain, or if you simply want to connect more deeply with them, I can’t recommend Agnes enough. She doesn’t just work with animals—she honours the love and bond that exists between them and us.

Working with Agnes has been, without a doubt, one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences of our lives. We enrolled our now 5-month-old maltipoo girl, Tia, in her 8-week training program, and what we gained was so much more than obedience training – it was a deep, beautiful bond with our puppy and an education in compassionate, intuitive dog parenting. From day one, Agnes made it her mission to understand Tia on a personal level. Her approach is not one-size-fits-all – she truly tailors every aspect of her program to the dog’s personality, energy, and needs. She got to know Tia as if she were her own, and designed a plan that nurtured her confidence while gently guiding her behavior. But what truly sets Agnes apart is that she doesn’t just train dogs – she trains people. As first-time dog owners, my husband and I were overwhelmed, but Agnes patiently guided us, answering every question, calming every worry, and helping us understand Tia in a way that changed everything. We are different people because of her – more confident, more connected, and so much more in tune with our dog. The relationship we now share with Tia is one we wouldn’t have known how to build without Agnes. On top of all this, Agnes brings a holistic touch to her work that is rare and powerful. She incorporated Bach flower remedies to help with Tia’s anxiety and restlessness, and the improvement has been both visible and heartwarming. Her knowledge, dedication, and care go beyond the surface – she addresses the emotional and energetic well-being of your pup in a way that feels deeply healing. Agnes is not just a dog trainer. She is a true healer, teacher, friend and a guide – someone who has forever changed our lives and helped us give Tia the best, most loving start in life. We are endlessly grateful and cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone who wants to not just “train” their dog, but to truly understand and connect with them. Thank you, Agnes. You are magic. We love you!

** Update** after a few more sessions with Agnes she is even better! Her skin is a lovely baby pink, showing she's healing, and her face is much better too. She doesn't lick or bite half as much as she used to and also seems much happier in herself again! I am so happy with how she's progressed and wanted to thank Agnes again for being such a wonderful person 🙏🏼 💗 🙏🏼 💗 I wanted to share the progress my American bulldog Dakota has made since starting work with the wonderful Agnes. Many people don't believe in what she does and won't even give her a chance but I want to share my personal experience with her and encourage those with an open mind to reach out to her. We first had a chat about Dakotas history and what I thought was the cause. Agnes then explained that she is an energy healer and told me a little bit about what she does. I don't pretend to know how it works but I can tell you that throughout the process we went from treating it as an allergy caused by certain foods and environmental issues to the possibility that she was reacting to me leaving her and the rain causes her a lot of stress. I was guided through using Bach remedies to help ease her stress and changing my mindset about what is affecting Dakota. Before help from Agnes I would never have thought that she had separation anxiety as she tended to curl up in a ball and sleep but also bit and licks herself, which she doesn't do massively when I am with her. With separation anxiety I always believed that it was shown by a dog destroying the house and whining rather than scratching and licking themselves. I do believe that she still also suffers with environmental allergies and sensitivity to certain foods but in making a few changes and acknowledging that she isn't as happy as I thought she was when being left alone, I have definitely seen improvements with her. I have attached some photos of her before help from Agnes and some from now. She still has a way to go as she was on apoquel for almost 5 years, masking her issues but we are definitely heading in the right direction. I would recommend that anyone with an open mind who has tried lots of other methods to get in touch with Agnes. She is such a lovely person to work with and very highly intuitive. She got Dakotas character down perfectly without me telling her what she was like. I honestly can't thank this wonderful lady enough for helping me through some very up and down weeks with my girl ❤️🥰🙏🐾

I can't praise Agnes enough for everything she has done for both my dogs. My greyhound, Blue, came to me aged 3 after being retired from racing. He settled in quite well to house life but was absolutely terrified of fireworks and thunderstorms. I had tried calming supplements and thunderstorms coats but nothing seemed to help. Agnes was already helping me with my other dog with skin allergies, so had offered to work with Blue too. Agnes is amazingly intuitive with everything she does and immediately was able to tell me a lot about his personality. She continued to work with him over a few weeks and there was a huge improvement! I was dreading new years eve, knowing that there would be continued noise for over 10 minutes but after a very brief whine and circling, he settled in his bed for the duration of the fireworks. Hopefully I have attached some photos of him laying quietly in his bed with a screenshot showing the date and time so the fireworks would have been in fulls swing. I have definitely noticed a big difference with his behaviour and his energy is much more relaxed since his sessions. I can't thank Agnes enough for helping me with her wonderful healing ability and would highly recommend her to anyone with fearful, reactive dogs.

Rebecca has been absolutely brilliant with my cocker spaniel. We have gone to foundation and intermediate classes, alongside a couple of 1:1 lessons. Next up is the beginners gun dog course. The classes have provided structure for training as well as teaching us some fun 'tricks' to keep things playful. I found the tips on how to improve loose lead walking and impulse control invaluable. I could not recommend The City Dog Club enough!

Professional Dog Trainers in City of London: Expert Urban Canine Training

Finding specialist dog trainers in the City of London requires professionals who understand the unique demands of Britain's financial district where historic landmarks meet modern skyscrapers. From training office dogs near Liverpool Street to socialising puppies around the Tower of London, our certified trainers deliver bespoke obedience training and behaviour modification programmes designed for this distinctive urban environment.

Serving EC1, EC2, EC3, and EC4 postcodes including areas around St Paul's Cathedral, Bank, Barbican, and Leadenhall Market, we've successfully trained over 800 dogs in the Square Mile. Our expertise addresses the specific challenges of canine ownership in this compact, bustling area where green spaces are limited but expectations for impeccable dog behaviour are exceptionally high.

Why Professional Dog Training Matters in the City of London

The City of London presents extraordinary training requirements shaped by its status as Europe's premier financial centre. With a resident population of just 10,000 but over 500,000 daily commuters, dogs must navigate extreme crowd density during weekday rush hours at stations like Moorgate, Bank, and Cannon Street. The limited green spaces including Postman's Park, St Dunstan in the East Garden, and Cleary Garden mean every walk involves significant urban stimulation requiring excellent lead manners and impulse control.

City dogs encounter unique challenges including constant construction work around development sites, historic church bells and sirens echoing through narrow streets, and the weekend transformation when the district becomes remarkably quiet. Our trainers specialise in creating confident, adaptable dogs comfortable with the dramatic environmental changes between bustling weekdays and peaceful weekends, ensuring reliable behaviour in all situations from busy Paternoster Square to quiet residential Barbican courtyards.

Tailored Training Solutions for City of London Dogs

Urban Socialisation and Foundation Training

Our programmes focus on creating bombproof city dogs comfortable with the Square Mile's intense urban environment. Training covers essential lead walking through crowded pavements near Cheapside and Royal Exchange, settling calmly in dog-friendly establishments around Spitalfields, and remaining composed during encounters with delivery vehicles and construction equipment. We utilise locations like the Barbican Estate gardens and the peaceful grounds around Tower Hill for controlled training sessions, building confidence systematically.

Office Dog and Public Access Training

With many City professionals bringing dogs to workplaces, we specialise in training appropriate office behaviour. This includes settling quietly under desks, ignoring food in communal areas, remaining calm during meetings and phone calls, and navigating lifts and reception areas professionally. Dogs learn to travel confidently on the Circle, District, and Metropolitan lines, adapting to both crowded morning commutes and quieter midday journeys essential for City living.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Training in City of London

Dog training in the City of London typically ranges from £65-110 per hour for private sessions, reflecting the premium nature of the location. Package programmes spanning 6-8 weeks average £500-850. Many trainers offer workplace training sessions at corporate offices, with rates varying based on requirements. Given the limited training venues within the Square Mile itself, many sessions occur at nearby locations including the Barbican or utilize quieter weekend periods when the area is more accessible.

Where can I exercise my dog in the City of London?

The City of London offers limited but charming green spaces for dog exercise. Key locations include the Barbican Estate gardens, Postman's Park near St Paul's, the peaceful St Dunstan in the East Garden ruins, and Cleary Garden near the Tower of London.
