We were ready to give up on our puppy until we met Tatiana. She has restored our faith . Supportive , goes over and above and obviously loves what she does. She’s firm but kind to the puppies . Having had Tatiana come to our house which I think is the best thing we did , we’ve now joined her follow on classes for older puppies and will be enjoying her scent class later in the year . We would like to thank you Tatiana because without you we would have rehomed him. Thank you from all of us .
Excellent puppy training - highly recommend this team!
We really enjoyed the puppy classes with Tatiana and Liz. Our puppy was older (7 months old) than the other puppies and was made to feel very welcome by the trainers and the other dog owners. It was a friendly group. The classes covered the basics with lots of individual advice and tips shared. We were lucky with the weather and it was great being able to do most of the classes outside in the field. It was a very practical class and the dogs were engaged in activities most of the time. I would highly recommend the classes and hope to continue further training with the team.
Highly recommend Tatiana's Adult dog courses. We have now completed 2 'blocks' of classes and I am really keen to continue. Compared to the puppy training we did elsewhere, these classes are worlds apart. The small classes means that the lessons can be tailored to what the specific dogs/humans need, rather than following a strict plan. Tatiana's ability to adapt challenges dependant on each breed, proves a wealth of experience with dog behaviour not just generic instructions. On top of that the lessons are fun and something I look forward to each week. Thank you so much x

Finding skilled dog trainers in Kidlington means connecting with professionals who understand the specific needs of this thriving Oxfordshire village. From training puppies near the Oxford Canal to managing reactive dogs in Stratfield Brake, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to this community. Serving areas including Kidlington town centre, Hampton Poyle, and Gosford, we've successfully trained over 850 dogs across the village and surrounding areas in the past eight years.
Kidlington presents unique training opportunities with excellent green spaces including Stratfield Brake Sports Ground, Water Eaton Park, and walking routes along the Oxford Canal towpath. However, proximity to Oxford Airport introduces aircraft noise that requires desensitisation training, while the busy A4260 through the village centre demands excellent lead manners and traffic awareness. Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for Kidlington's semi-rural character, where country walks meet suburban living.
With housing ranging from Victorian cottages to modern estates like Hampton Poyle development, many residents need dogs comfortable in various living situations. Our training addresses community living requirements while building confident dogs ready for both village life and trips into nearby Oxford city centre.
Our puppy programmes focus on the crucial 8-16 week socialisation period, introducing young dogs to Kidlington's environment including canal boats, cyclists on shared paths, aircraft overhead, and farm animals in surrounding countryside. Training covers house training, crate training, bite inhibition, and essential commands, with socialisation sessions in local parks helping puppies develop confidence around diverse stimuli.
Kidlington's excellent walking areas demand reliable recall training. We develop off-lead control for safely enjoying spaces like Water Eaton Park and canal towpaths, training recall despite wildlife, cyclists, and other dogs. This ensures your dog can exercise properly while you maintain complete control in open environments.
Using positive reinforcement and desensitisation techniques, we address leash reactivity, fear-based responses, and aggression issues. Training in controlled environments along quieter canal sections or Stratfield Brake gradually builds tolerance, teaching calm responses to triggers encountered on village walks.
Dog training in Kidlington typically costs £45-70 per hour for private sessions, with 6-week packages ranging from £300-450. Group classes cost £15-25 per session, while puppy courses average £180-300. Local trainers often provide free initial consultations and mobile services throughout the village at no extra charge.
Excellent training locations include Stratfield Brake for space and variety, Oxford Canal towpath for distraction training with cyclists and boats, Water Eaton Park for controlled socialisation, and quieter residential streets near St Mary's Church for lead work. Early mornings offer quieter conditions for nervous dogs.
Yes, aircraft noise from Oxford Airport is a common concern in Kidlington. We use systematic desensitisation and counter-conditioning to help dogs remain calm during flyovers. Most dogs show significant improvement within 4-8 weeks, learning to ignore aircraft noise during walks and at home.
