We visited Max Canine a few days ago for a 1-2-1 assessment with Emily. Our dog is nearly 5 years of age and suffers from anxiety when first meeting other dogs and strangers. She was a ‘lockdown’ puppy and we did not get the opportunity to socialise her. We were very impressed with the way Emily understood our concerns and the excellent advice and tips we received which are already having a positive effect on our dog when going for walks. We now plan to participate in future group training sessions at Max Canine and would highly recommend Emily.
We approached Emily after a friend recommendation and we were not disappointed. As first time dog owners to a lovely staffy, we did need some guidance to start off at the right foot. If you have a puppy and just want to start things right before developing any/too many issues Emily's help is so valuable. We have had a 1:1 session and attended a lot of the socialisation groups last summer which helped so much. Everything we've learnt we have continuously put into practice and we now have a lovely 2 yr old happy dog that we can take anywhere with us, even a successful holiday to France walking the busy streets of Bordeaux with the most calm and happy boy. To add to that, the confidence you gave me with off lead walking was massive and we enjoy off lead walks daily and I have peace of mind with our dogs recall being brilliant. Thank you! 10000% recommend - worth the time, trust and money (very reasonably priced too). Definitely worth it and your dog will thank you❤️
After struggling with DIY/online training with our very fearful, Romanian rescue, Finlay, we saw Max Canine on Facebook and thought it was time to see a proper behaviourist and the reviews helped us to decide on Max Canine. Emily's set-up in Carrog was ideal for the one-to-one assessment session. The session was great. Emily is really friendly and clearly knows what she's doing with anxious dogs, and explained the psychology really well. We covered basic tweaks like how we hold the lead and control the pace on walks to help Finlay ignore his triggers. Finlay's biggest fear is bicycles on walks - but by the end of the session, Finlay was completely ignoring Emily's bike and just admiring the nearby sheep. We've got a long way to go with Finlay but from taking on Emily's advice, we're noticing improvements already after just two days. We're looking forward to working with Emily and her team going forward!
Highly recommend Emily and Max Canine. My 16 month old dog has responded so well to the advice given by Emily having completed a 1-2-1 session. Focused around what I want for my dog, recall and reduced reactivity, Emily has been able to give some brilliant training to build on. He has already shown such a brilliant improvement after one session which gave me the confidence to take him along to a group session which was great.
I cannot recommend Emily enough. Ori is a collie cross from Croatia. I had been told by multiple trainers he was never able to go off lead and his prey drive had been ‘activated’ and wouldn’t get better. I put him in residential training for around 9 days as his main issue was chasing sheep. ALWAYS chasing sheep. I was kept up to date sent pics and vids showing him to me and what was being taught etc so felt super at ease. Not only that day 2 she was sat with Ori in a field off lead surrounded by sheep. She explained his main focus being around our relationship and took time to show me and explain why and how things work. Absolutely amazing! and Ori is so much more settled as a dog. Listens more and I understand him more. Our walks are more relaxed and I’m no longer terrified of seeing a sheep or anything that moves on a walk. Recommend!!!!

Oakley, our one year old boxer, had become quite fearful of people and barking when any stranger approached. He then became quite poorly, which prevented us working on the fear and inevitably the behaviour became even more heightened. After reading advice galore online we felt even more confused... and so we got in touch with Anna. After our first consultation I felt like the missing pieces of knowledge were finally slotting into place and those two hours already had taken a weight off my shoulders! We had 5 further behaviour sessions which not only improved Oakley's confidence, but our confidence in carrying out his training going forwards. Even within those first few weeks Oakley's confidence increased noticeable amounts and the reactions becoming less and less. We have been continuing with the training techniques Anna showed us and Oakley is a different dog. His threshold distance has reduced massively and he is much happier! He is still wary of people who talk directly to him or attempt to give him a fuss, but with the techniques and knowledge we have learnt, I have every confidence we will get there! Thank you so much Anna!
Having been pulled around by Connie, our 18month old Cocker Spaniel, we contacted Anna for help with loose lead training. Her calm approach worked wonders, with noticeable improvement after the first lesson. Now, after two further sessions Connie, my husband and I are enjoying our walks with a happy little dog at our side.
Me and Oatly worked with Anna for 12 sessions and it has been so rewarding as an owner to build a relationship with my puppy that makes him very happy. Anna was able to advise and support my circumstances and help establish routines that work for me and my Oat. I feel confident that I have the foundations needed to create a positive environment for Oatly to grow and develop as he transitions into adulthood.
Great place to train your dog. I've had both one to one and group sessions and have found them very fun and effective
I came to Anna at Forests and Fetch with my lab mix puppy who was showing signs of anxiety around people and other dogs. I had already been to puppy classes with another trainer but had found them unsuccessful as my puppy would bolt for the door at any given opportunity which I was told was her being a teenager. Anna helped me realise that this was anxious behaviour and that by helping her manage her anxieties first her training would be much easier. After just 3 months I have a much more confident puppy who is already picking up her training quickly at home and is now ready to return to a class setting! I would reccomend Anna to anyone who's puppy is showing signs of anxiety to help nip any challenging behaviour in the bud!

Great service. Nothing is too much trouble. Having 2 elderly cats, both with health issues their welfare is my first priority. Ralf takes care of my cats when I go away and Sabine always texts with updates. Meaning I can fully relax as I know they are being cared for.
I've known Sabine for quite a few years now and she's always very thorough and does her best for the animals she cares for.
Fabulous service looking after our 2 old horses. Makes you feel so relaxed that they are in safe hands- and sent us regular pictures too! Wouldn’t use anyone else if I want to know they are safe. Sabine is so knowledgable and a great advisor.
Sabine is a passionate animal care and training professional. Her puppy classes are of a high standard and provide puppies with a fabulous start to life. She is kind and caring and all animals in her care experience lots of love and attention. Highly recommend.
Professional service, high level of care, and most importantly very reliable.
PLAS ISSA FARM, Penycae, Wrexham LL14 1TT
Had a great night camping here! Dean was very welcoming and explained all the areas we could use. He ensures not to over book the site so everyone had a huge area to themselves with great privacy. We will definitely be coming back
Had an amazing weekend camping at Plas Issa Farm. Couldn't have asked for a better host, Dean went above and beyond. The site was immaculate with amazing views and scenery. Would highly recommend!
We used the main/back field for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Dean was so friendly and welcoming, meeting us to explain how it works. Maggie absolutely loved the stream that runs through the two fields. This is the best off lead field we’ve been to as it feels so natural, with bushes/trees, different terrain and of course, the stream. We will definitely be back!
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Plas Issa is lovely. We go there for the dog field but I can imagine how wonderful it would be for a wedding or any kind of celebration really. The barns look excellent for a party and the setting is beautiful. The owner is a lovely, lovely man, and given how he bends over to make sure your visit to the field is successful, I imagine his attention to detail for any event would be just what you are looking for. The dog field we use is the one with the freshwater stream and pond in the main field, and the extra bit over the path at the back, which also has a stream and is very picturesque. The other fields look lovely too, and more are planned. For the one with the stream that we use, there is a car park for use only of the people in the field at the time, which has running water and a hose. This is accessed through a barn, which first time is a little confusing, but the owner always comes out for newbies to show them the ropes. The main field is beautiful and is one of the less muddy fields we've been to in wet weather. The pond and stream ensure your dog will not be a total filthy nightmare at the end of the hour, we only ever really need to use the hose for our own boots! The field at the back is a perfect size for a relaxing stroll, and you can basically get a bit of a play in the main field in, with dog frolicking in stream and pond... Do a full circuit of the field at the back, which has a bench or two, and then a final play back in the main field, within the hour. This is perfect for us, and we book weeks in advance whenever we know we will be in the area. I am unable to do the two and three hour walks I used to go on with the dog in Wales, and only since we found Plas Issa, do I feel like I am not missing out on something I used to love doing. This not only our favourite dog field in the whole world, but also one of our favourite places full stop. The atmosphere is lovely and the setting is beautiful, and yet, not far at all from Wrexham town centre. Thanks guys!

Just completed 6 training classes with our 6mth cockapoo. Very impressed with Jayde, our pup loves the classes and has surpassed our expectations with what she’s learnt. Already booked our next classes, highly recommend.
Jayde is very knowledgeable about training dogs and has been a huge help with our border collie puppy when she started lunging at cars! I would recommend her puppy and teenage dog classes, she makes them fun for the puppies and owners alike!
Fantastic experience with Jayde. Super sessions, fun, focused and We have seen such positive results. I cannot recommend Jayde enough, and we love the added extra of the social gatherings.
Jayde has been brilliant with our puppy Caper. Extremely knowledgeable and professional, she really cares about dogs and has massively helped our dog training experience. Oh, and she has the best dog sausages in Britain 🙂
I’ve had a few sessions with Jayde and my miniature dachshund and she is a fabulous dog trainer! Her knowledge is amazing, she can answer pretty much anything when it comes to dogs behaviour and advise. She has really helped me with a few issues I’ve had with my dog and has taught me how to avoid the issues. Jayde is extremely professional but such a lovely, approachable lady :) 10/10 would recommend to anyone. We will be continuing our training journey with Jayde and hopefully start more classes in the future!
Finding experienced dog trainers in Brymbo means connecting with professionals who understand the unique character of this historic Welsh village community. From training puppies in the residential areas near Brymbo Heritage Centre to managing reactive dogs along local walking routes and woodland paths, our certified trainers deliver personalised obedience training, behaviour modification, and puppy socialisation programmes tailored to village life.
Serving Brymbo and surrounding areas including Tanyfron, Southsea, and Bwlchgwyn, we've successfully trained over 450 dogs in the local community. Our expertise addresses the specific needs of dog ownership in this close-knit village, from navigating quiet country lanes to enjoying off-lead exercise in nearby countryside and local green spaces.
Brymbo presents distinct training opportunities shaped by its semi-rural setting between Wrexham and the surrounding Welsh countryside. The village's mix of residential streets, nearby woodland areas, and country walks provides excellent training environments where dogs encounter farm animals, wildlife, and other dogs on popular walking routes. This makes proper recall training and livestock awareness essential for safe, responsible countryside access.
Our trainers specialise in preparing dogs for Brymbo's unique environment, including desensitisation to rural sounds, traffic along the B5101, and the social dynamics of a small community where neighbours often know each other. We understand local walking spots and can help your dog become a well-mannered companion whether strolling through the village or exploring the nearby Clwydian Range trails.
Our puppy programmes build essential foundations during the critical 8-16 week development period. Training covers house training, basic commands, lead walking, and controlled socialisation. We expose young dogs to Brymbo's environment including village sounds, various surfaces, and appropriate encounters with other dogs and people, creating confident, well-adjusted adult dogs.
Given Brymbo's proximity to farmland and countryside, reliable recall is crucial. We develop strong off-lead control and teach dogs appropriate behaviour around livestock, wildlife, and rural distractions. This training ensures your dog can safely enjoy local walks while respecting the countryside code and protecting local wildlife and farm animals.
We address common behavioural challenges including leash reactivity, recall issues, and anxiety. Using positive reinforcement techniques, we help dogs overcome fears and develop calm responses to triggers. Our approach is tailored to Brymbo's community setting, ensuring your dog becomes a welcome member of this friendly village.
Dog training in Brymbo typically costs £35-60 per hour for private sessions, with package deals offering better value at £200-400 for 6-8 week programmes. Group classes range from £10-18 per session. Mobile services throughout Brymbo and surrounding villages mean no travel costs, making professional training accessible and affordable for local residents.
Absolutely. We specialise in training dogs to behave appropriately around sheep, cattle, and other livestock common in areas surrounding Brymbo. This includes teaching strong recall, leave-it commands, and calm behaviour when encountering farm animals, essential for safe countryside access and compliance with local farming communities.
Begin training immediately when bringing your puppy home, typically around 8 weeks old. The 8-16 week socialisation window is crucial for developing a confident dog comfortable with Brymbo's environment. However, dogs of all ages benefit from training, and we regularly work with adult dogs and rescues helping them adapt to village life.
Professional dog training in Brymbo creates well-mannered companions suited to village and countryside living. Our proven methods combine modern training techniques with understanding of local needs, ensuring your dog thrives whether walking village streets or exploring surrounding Welsh countryside.
